Not that I can upgrade this :flabbynsick: PC yet, but can someone break down water cooling for me?

I've heard about it for years but I can never get past using liquid to cool a PC part :patrice:

And do you have to change it? What's going on?
I was scared of liquid cooling at first too a few years ago, but quickly realized it's easy as shyt (at least for CPUs). The liquid is self contained and you don't have to change it (you do for custom water cooling though). Get an h80i or h100i for you CPU. It's simple to install; just mount the radiator and fans, and the thermal paste is already applied. I really like liquid cooling CPUs (you can overclock higher).

I don't know about gpu liquid cooling, but @Ruck does

I like the picture quality out of the box. Keep in mind the only reference I have is my TV and this monitor. I think if you're in the hunt for a 1080P monitor you're not going to find a better one than this. I will also warn that I'm in my pc gaming honeymoon phase so everything I'm experiencing is blowing my mind as a console gamer.

If you're in it for the colors an IPS panel is unmatched in terms of color accuracy and that pop.

I'm not that big of a stickler for that type of stuff. I prefer the G-Sync technology and 144hz.
Appreciate it. I might pick this up just off the price. Hopefully it will hold me over until I catch a 27" IPS around $4-500.

And for DS4, try the workaround in the replies here

You might better off with an X1 controller.

DS4 support is in the latest Steam beta build

Steam Community :: Group :: Steam Client Beta

OCTOBER 31

Controller
  • Added Steam Configurator support for PS4 Dual Shock Controller. Note that this is a beta release. Enable in Big Picture settings Add/Test Controller settings. When enabled, PS4 controllers will have access to the same sort of customization/configuration support as Steam Controllers, including native API support.
  • PS4 Controllers using this system can map the trackpad, gyro, buttons, etc. to keyboard, mouse, or x-input outputs and can make use of action sets, touch menus, radial menus, and so forth.
  • Added New Mode – Joystick Mouse. This is a joystick based mouse control useful for stick based controllers.
  • Added default PS4 templates.
  • Added software calibration for non-Steam controller based IMUs to counter for gyro drift.
  • Configuration Browser can now be toggled to show all available controller types rather than the default of the in-use controller type.
  • Configurations can now be marked as “Unique” to a specific controller. This configuration will only be applied to that controller for that user’s account. By default, all controllers of a specific type will share a configuration unless marked as Unique.
  • Big Picture now supports PS4 controller glyphs when using Steam Configurator support.

Opinions on sshd hybrids vs just a ssd? Like that seagate 1tb model
SSDs are much, much faster. I had a seagate hybrid in my old machine like 5-6 years ago, before I got into SSDs. I thought the hybrid was pretty cool when I got it, but believe me, SSDs are much faster. I've gone SSD ever since for all my computers since then.

Maybe one of you can help me out. I've been checking out this build a PC website that someone here recommended. I made this build a few months ago. I want to see if I do some shopping on black Friday and cyber Monday for parts. But I'm not sure if I want this to be the final build. Especially since I did it over the summer. If anyone can help, great. If you see any parts on my list that you think can be upgraded, let me know. I'm looking to stay under the $1500 mark and less if I get any deals either on that weekend or after. Hopefully I build it early next year so there no rush to find parts if it's too expensive. What I do want to prioritize is the processor and graphics card, preferably even a 4k one although I can settle for a great regular one, the rest can be average items. This will be an everyday PC since i don't own one. Stuff like browsing the web, multimedia, gaming, learning some coding and stuff like that. Any thoughts?
