I've tried various cpu monitor programs, and all say i have 12 cores (after numerous hard resets). I dunno what happened, but I guess I shouldn't complain

I'm easily getting 4.4ghz now, with no overclock. What the fukk is happening?

Go to pcpartpicker.com and go to system builds and type in that case and see what others have done with it and see if it will be a good fit for you. I figured it would be expensive and a little bit of a headache to build in due to storage concerns but I read a few success stories on there

Will I regret these parts/builds in a couple of years? I noticed the first two were dual core. I won't be doing editing or anything like that. The only thing I see myself doing is playing games and streaming video. 1 core will be for gaming or streaming, the other for other things in the background? Is it that simple? If so, I should have enough cpu to avoid my computer running slow. Am I right?

If I'm wrong. Here is another computer with a quad core.

dual core ain't gonna cut it these days. you at least need a quad core (i5), or maybe more if you're really serious about streaming

I mean streaming video like Netflix. Not streaming myself gaming. But I don’t wanna spend more than $1,000. I’m not sure I’m gonna like pc gaming so I really don’t wanna spend more than a console. $500 - $600. If I like it I figure I’ll upgrade.

I would still get a quad core. build it around an i5 and a gtx 1060

I would say an 8th gen core i3 or 7th gen Cote i5 should be your minimum at this point. The fact that it’s finally a true quad core is a sign that dual core CPUs are finally on their way out.

brehh you should be looking at at least an i7 7700 or Ryzen 6 1600 (id go with the Ryzen becuase of the extra cores and the price:performance ratio)

I would go with the Core i5 8400 over the Ryzen 1600 if its purely gaming

Ignore the first two builds. Those are really low end for gaming.

The third build is an okay build for 1080P gaming.

Are we talking $1000 including keyboard, mouse, and monitor? And are you planning on trying to use the hotel tvs(Which can be hit or miss)?
