Has anybody upgraded to an ssd? Is there any painless way of doing it? shyt, it sounds like a 2-3 day job no matter what.

Edit: fukk SSDs man. It can't be worth all of this fukking hassle

clean reinstall is always for the better. its 2013, you should have programs on dvds/cloud and data backed up on other HDs...which leaves you to mostly reinstall the OS and youre good to go...

Most SSDs come with a software disk that will automatically clone your primary drive onto the SSD. That is assuming there is enough space on the SSD.

Yeah, that's my problem. I'd need a 512gb ssd to do the cloning.

I just want 128gb for a boot drive and windows shyt, but that will require me to reinstall every fukking thing on my computer (which I don't want to do). I mean I do have backups of everything, but I don't think that'll help much). You gotta install this driver first, this second, call microsoft, blah blah blah. I guess I"ll just wait until I have enough saved until I can purchase a 512gb ssd and then just clone that shyt.

I can still leave my 1tb data internal drive the way it is though right (all of my media [music, shows, movies] are on that internal drive)? Or do I have to fukk around with that shyt too?
