$800 build is up with a Core i5 4670K

I'll wait to see what 2gunsup, @daze23, or @Malta recommend in terms of GPU to fit into that $1,000 build. I am thinking for $323 dedicated to the GPU...we might be able to get a decent SLI setup to combine with that 4670K. Give me the best nvidia solution you can recommend to me at that price breh.

I am guessing a crossfire setup of dual 7850s is probably a beast, but I worry about the stuttering

At the moment I'd recommend Ivy Bridge builds to save money. Haswell clock for clock is only about a 5% improvement. I wouldn't recommend crossfire at the moment until either later this month or next month which is when we'll supposedly see AMD's driver fix for the CF issues. Even then I don't think I'd be comfortable recommending CF to someone new to PC gaming.

SLI'd 650 TI Boosts could be interesting. I'd normally recommend the strongest single card set up you can get for the budget though.

3570K, though its ridiculous that Newegg still has it priced so high and $10 within Haswell. Two months ago them things were going at MC for $169.99 with $40 off any compatible Z77 motherboard. However if you recommend an Ivy Bridge you can go cheaper on the mobo.

I'm going to stick with the haswell, because from the looks of it the price is less than $100 to drop to IVY...plus who doesn't want the latest and greatest when you are pushing 1K?

I am all about performance, I don't care about any of these companies at the end of the day. Went with NVIDIA over AMD in graphics in the last build because I think anyone spending $1,000+ should not have any limits in terms of options. Stuck with DDR3 1600 RAM because apparently the motherboard I picked goes at either 2933 (which is too expensive) or 1600/1333.

If there is ANY other configuration in where more performance can be squeezed out in any build...share.

How about you get us some support for embedding google docs so this can really be done right,

For 1440p on a budget, Korean monitors either off Ebay / Micro Center. That resolutions minimum size is 27".

Things are changing rapidly around here so as far as features go? This forum installation is probably done.

I updated the monitors. Must have HDMI and must come with built-in speakers.

I know, but I want to make this as open and easy as possible for the potential newbies that are about to join us after the xbox one flop :wow2:

Most of the built in speakers are shyt, but I don't want someone flipping the switch and then bugging out because they don't have sound lol.

Just saying, don't want them pissed off when they plug in that HMDI to find out 1440p is trash via it. Display port supports sound,

I fukks with built in speakers even though they are shyt. I personally don't use separate speakers. When I game or need better quality sound I throw my headset on. I can't stand all the extra wires and shyt speakers bring.

a 1000W PSU seems like overkill to me, but 85$ for it isnt bad

for cpu and mobo, i would go with the haswell + mobo deals that you get $40 off for the combo, i like the 4670k+gigabyte ud3h z87 for $344 deal. although i dont know if theres a reason to upgrade if you have a sandy bridge or above
