Seriously it seemed like "the best videcard" dropped every month the past six months. I just close my eyes and run my games and if it runs good enough and better than what's out on consoles then I'm happy.

Yea..I initially wanted a 760 or 770..but I ran across that Sapphire Toxic Edition which is said to be able to hit a 780 and is considered to be the best Amd card out and it's cheaper so I pulled the trigger...I do want that physx tho..lol

exactly.

a 560ti came with my PC bundle last year...i was happy with it...for a while.
recently got my 2gig 760 and i love it but i still be looking at the 770 and 780 like :ohhh: :ohlawd: :patrice::ohlawd::ohlawd::ohlawd:

:lupe:

:beli:

you just gotta let it go.
it's a never ending climb up a mountain that never stops growing.

i'm happy to be just below the summit and watch it grow above me.
no way i'm gonna drop a $1000 or more to be on top of the GPU game for a few months
just to have the next monster GPU crush my buildings as i sit back and look at my rig like :dahell:

When I had a GTX 550 Ti on my first build, I liked that physx was something I could take advantage of despite it being implemented in one game I owned(No actually I forgot Metro w/e has it.) When Tomb Raider came out and I was hearing about how Tressfx runs better on AMD cards, I convinced myself I was in dire need of an upgrade and it would be an AMD card for that reason. I got that card and it ran beautifully but that's also because a 7870>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>GTX 550Ti. Now Nvidia coming out with this price slash for the 770 which isn't too shabby and on top of that I like how they implement downsampling natively.

I just see those video cards as models for enthusiasts who game on dual or tri monitors and need that raw power to get all that shyt running smoothly. I game on a 60hz 39inch HDTV connected through HDMI at 1080P so mid range cards are good enough for me. They max out or nearly max out games at that resolution and if I'm feeling lucky I'll downsample some games to 1440P(which I'm mad I can't do it right now on the latest AMD drivers) with slightly lower details.

yall starting to piss me off with this video card talk

yall making dumb ass decisions when buying video cards and trying to blame the video cards like it aint your own fault

560 ti
660 ti
760

have never "just been below the summit"

its 570, 670 or 770 for "below the summit" or dont even join the video card discussions really :camby:

the 80/90 part of the series always top of the card and the 70 part of the series has always been the tier below the 80/90 series

this is how it works

x70 = fairest priced card comes out 2nd usually a few weeks after the x80 version of the card, still great results just right below the x80 version.
x80 = comes out first, best card at the time of release outside of the $1000 priced cards. (usually priced around $450-600)
x90 = comes out last , usually even after the x50 and x60 versions have came out. Beats out the x80 but barely (both are beasting out every game) usually comes out a month or two sometimes even later than x80/x70. Will be more comparable to the x80 version of the next generation

ANYTHING less than that for nvidia I dont care if you spent $290 on your card is considered BUDGET card for nVidia. If you are spending less than $300 on a card it better be AMD because their $250 cards will always blow nvidia $250 cards out the water because nVidia right now has the $300+ priced video card market on lock down

if you wanna get a budget great video card go with AMD for the same price as a 560(at the time) a 660/760 you can find a way better and same priced AMD card

nvidia shines in the $300+ price range
AMD shines in the $150-300 price range

yall just making bad investments..

getting a x60/x50 version of nvidia card is ensuring that you dont want to future proof your computer. You will be able to play current games at a decent settings and thats it.

i'm very happy with my 760 and the detail that physx adds is something that i really enjoy.

for $250 i'm very happy and there are not many cards better than the 760 without the price going up at an exponential level that is not on par with performance.

i'm not made of money so i have been upgrading my card every 2 years for a while now.

the past 4 years i have been upgrading annually.
