I was getting tired of all the jaggies in Dishonored , and it's lack of better AA options, so I found out how to force Sparse Grid Supersampling AA (SGSSAA) :patrice:

I figure this shot is worse case scenario with all those straight lines

you gonna have to walk me through the menu options you enabled with Inspector...shyt's a bit overwhelming.

Can't post Amazon links but...

Seagate Backup Plus 4 TB USB 3.0 Desktop External Hard Drive STCA4000100

@midwesthiphop just put me on to this on Amazon going for 119. My PC brehs, would I be straight if I took it out of the enclosure and used it as an internal drive? Let me know, cause if I can I'll pull the trigger.

I have a 3TB on the way that I got for 91 bucks on Monday, but I'll grab this one as well if I can throw it in my rig.

@GoldenGlove here is a comment from Amazon

For those of you considering this drive for the same reason I did, I'll tell you what's inside. It is a Seagate ST4000DM000, the latest generation 4TB HDD. It is a 64MB Cache, 5900RPM, SATA 6.0Gb/s drive. I installed it in my HTPC as the primary drive and it is functioning perfectly. Do not let the 5900RPM fool you, as the drive does not appear in any way to lag. It has performed solidly while using some fairly HDD intensive video editing programs. Make sure to load your OS install CD/DVD in UEFI mode or the installer will only see 2TB available.

It should also be noted that the ST4000DM000 is the exact same drive as the STBD4000400. The difference in model numbers simply reflects the different channels the drive went through to make it into your hands.

here's my settings. copy all the bold settings. they're all important for this to work right (and make sure to hit "apply changes" when you're done) (and turn the ingame AA off)

but wow it makes the game look better. it is pretty performance heavy, but this game isn't too intensive to begin with. my framerate only drops down to the 50's in bigger open areas (and you have a better card than me)

using another similar screenshot :lolbron:

but it was using an older version of Nvidia Inspector, so it had a few differences. my screenshot uses the current version, so it should be easy to copy. you'll probably have to type that one code in for "antialiasing compatibility" (the one you need isn't in the drop-down menu)

I wanna try this out in other games where I have a lot of overhead performance wise

would each game have it's own set of adjustments or is most of it going to be the same?

should this only be used with games that don't support advanced anti aliasing techniques?

so many questions :lupe:...

I imagine you need a different "antialiasing compatibility" code for different games. the good thing is someone usually already figured all this stuff out, and you just need to search for it

when i was reading about it, it's important that the MSAA and SGSSAA have the same multiplier (2x, 4x, etc). the "LOD Bias" is also important as it adjusts for the blur this effect might create

@daze23, got it to work.
reflections in the street puddles look much nicer, edges are smoother and i think the light shafts are more pronounced.

my fps is still 100-140.

pc master race strikes again.
