brehs, i got invited to steam family sharing this week but i dont understand how to make it work. my brother lives in another country and i want to let him play my game library. how do i give him access

you have to sign into steam on his computer, and authorize sharing on that computer. if it's really your brother and you trust him, you could give him password, and do it like that

(note: I've never tried this, but that's my understanding of how it works)

You can actually use SteamOS' BPM right now in windows.
Just make sure your steam is enabled for beta use and then create a shortcut to steam.exe and add this to the end of it

I just tried it and it's slightly different. Tick the desktop option in the settings/Interface menu to get back to the desktop.

well this way he could just log on once with your account, and then play your games on his own account after that (his own achievements, etc)

really it seems the main thing Steam Family Sharing had in mind was people that share one computer. and other than that, they had in mind people that actually know each other, and would be able to physically sign in and authorize sharing. basically they didn't want to make it convenient for 'strangers' to share stuff over long distances (aka what everyone wanted)
