brehs so i bought me game stop xbox style controller to play some games on my laptop ( i have bought a bunch of games the past few month from steam but never played none) , so i bought this control with that objective, my laptop is not a gaming laptop but the specs on i thought would be decent enough to run a game on low settings or something but :sadcam:, each of the games i own i checked out the setting on a website to test if i can run it and:

video Card
Minimum: DirectX 9.0c Compatible 3D accelerated 128 MB Video card with Pixel Shader 3.0 or equivalent (NVIDIA GeForce 6600+ / ATI Radeon X1300+)
You Have: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000

I meet all other requirements to run the games, so my question is this, can i take my laptop to a computer shop and have them upgrade the video card also, how much would that cost me?

This is the laptop i have , only difference i have the 1 TB harddirve

looks like i might be returning my card to newegg. constant fukking driver crashes AFTER playing games :why:

might be a problem with the card itself.

the down time :sadbron:

the shipping delay over new years :sadbron:

might have to just suck it up til after the holidays :sadbron:

did you overclock it?

edit: you sure it's not crashing (black screen) and recovering ingame, and then you're seeing the "your display driver has crashed..." message when you exit the game?

try different drivers.
when i updated to a new driver a month or two ago i was crashing like crazy.
then i rolled back and was all good.
i waited for the new driver and got that and i'm still all good.

try the some older drivers.

nah i gamed for like 2-3 hrs straight NO problems (no black screens, no screen lags or lockups, my fps is a constant rate, and i see my gpu load and fan on my second monitor strong and consistent.

but as soon as my gpu de-loads and idles at the desktop... a few seconds later "driver crash and recovered". i can replicate the crash almost every single time...

tried with 311.82 WQHL and 311.93 beta.. same thing.

no overclock, no overvolt, stock out of the box.
it happened on my old windows, so i stopped being a bytch and installed fresh windows- still happened.

i guess i could give it a try, but it just doesnt make sense to me why i should have to, especially with the ol' "nvidia drivers are better" mumbo jumbo i always hear about

thats the craziest shyt though, i can game and benchmark for hours on end without breaking a sweat. as soon as i deload for a bit- crash /smh

worst case scenario- my new card might also crash (knocks on wood) but then i can safely say its not a hardware issue. i'm not losing any money over this so its all good tbh.
