Have you actually done research on htpc? You don't need a i5. Go to xbmc forums and check out the hardware section. Plenty of builds listed that don't use an i5.

yup, for 6 months and I wanted it perfect. I m getting the i5 with my SSD cuz I want it somewhat fast and for multitasking of course. Good graphics count as well since I m cutting off cable too.

@Ciggavelli All I wanted was advice on a PSU breh and I had bad luck with my links which, then the great @Orbital-Fetus had to rub it in tellin me my board was from 1998.

Came here for advice cuz I thought the Coli dudes looked out for each other and guide each other, but obviously I disturbed your good discussion, lol

my bad brehs, carry on. I ll hit up XBMC and reddit. Actually I saw a couple builds where ppl say to get a i3, but a i5 is the wiser choice.

I saw all those articles like 5 months ago, but different ppl used different cases and I wanted a nice looking case which cost me a PSU :snoop:

They been linked here before, but none talked about a PSU and the voltage needed

edit @Ciggavelli your links only show when I quote you. Must be the coli then

Yeah, I guess we may have done you a bit dirty, but it's all in good fun. Those links I posted before should help though

like i said before, i did not know that you were trying to build a HTPC.
i post about gaming when it comes to PC related issues...so when you called me out specifically i assumed you wanted advice on building a gaming rig.

when i saw the MOBO you chose my jimmies were rustled because i thought you wanted it for gaming.

good luck on your venture.
