I hate the micro transaction shyt though. It takes FOREVER to get the xp/gold needed to buy things without spending money. Is Blacklight the same way? I've only played Tribes.
pretty much, but I just play like paying cash isn't an option. paying cash to unlock items early just feels like cheating to me
it's not definite for Arma III. and they've said if it does happen, it probably wouldn't come out until quite some time after the game drops
as it is they've been tweeking Arma II to work better with the mod (through beta patches). I don't blame them since all of a sudden their 2+ y/o game is a cash cow and the #1 seller on Steam. it seems they may be setting Arma II up to pretty much be the dedicated host for Day Z. they already have other maps (DLC) they could incorporate into Day Z as well

i just torrented arma with DAYz
I don't think you can play Day Z with a pirated version of Arma. maybe if there's some kinda bootleg servers. but I imagine those servers would be overrun with hackers

it's a "persistent mod", meaning your character is the same across different servers, so all servers must connect to a central 'hive' server to get your player information. that player information is tied to your cd-key. they control the hive server, and can (and will) blacklist any servers they feel are violating their rules
Day Z is closely tied to Arma. especially now that it has been making so much money for them. "rocket", the main dude behind Day Z, is now officially working for Bohemia (the company that makes Arma)

There is a sale on steam for Arma 2 combat ops.. is Day Z really worth it?
it's not a game for everyone. check out some youtube videos to see if it looks like something you're into. try to find a long unedited video so you can really see what the majority of the game is like
IMO it's worth $30
