"We’re living in a golden age of PC gaming, but unlike other platforms the PC has no format holder, no marketing department, and—until now—no event during E3 week purely devoted to it. We think a show like this, which brings together people from every corner of PC gaming to celebrate the exciting things happening, is long overdue. We hope you’ll join us, in person or on stream, to be part of it."

Has always been the biggest platform so an E3 conference was never really needed, but cool to see nonetheless.
Well I thinking a lot of multi plats that kill on console might get shine at a PC e3. Plus they get to show off exclusives that might get people interested in the platform.

Good, it's about time. Steam should really have their own conference too. I'm assuming they will with all their new tech in the future. I'm getting that VR headset this fall, day 1

I'm not sure I agree, the PC is what it is.

Either you have the patience and know how to deal with it or you rather the easy console experience

True.

But with Steamboxes, $500 ready mades, what AMD is doing with APUs, and people generally being more informed about pcs we might see more acceptance in the next few years.

More acceptance might mean console death from what I've read.
