The difference is Steph has a super light frame so it's pretty much mental.

With Zion and his large frame/weight, you got added huge problems. Even with a perfect walk, that's just alotta stress and strain carrying all that explosiveness. It's a reason Lebron pays so much attention and money towards his body. Steph is also heavily into sports science.

I could easily be wrong, but Zion just hasn't shown gymrat vibes that he has to have to overcome this. Everything came natural to him and he has so many bad habits.
And the next step will be to cut down to an appropriate weight, eventually.

It seems like they're going to have to rebuild his entire body, and a game that runs parallel to it. I keep trying to tell nikkas that this is the only way.
if this changes his style of play :francis:
To a certain degree, he'll most definitely have to. He won't last long in the league playing the way he does. I'll gladly sacrifice whatever entertainment value it takes for him to have an actual career, and not one that we are eulogizing in 2-3 years.

Re-walk? Fuhk is this about. He didnt have no spinal injury

Man, this seems just too much. This past draft was hella trash... except for Ja Morant who the pelicans would be thriving with right now.

Zion waddles like a duck because of his weight and build. His body is compensating for the extra bulk. Teaching him how to walk differently is one thing, but he's also going to have to shed a lot of pounds for long-term viability.

Yep. His knees will be shot to hell by 25 if he doesn’t lose that weight.

You hate to see it. :francis:

I say sit him for the rest of the season they ain’t doin shyt anyways this a marathon not a sprint
I think that's why they put this info out. He was supposed to be out 8 weeks and that's over but you need a reason to keep him out as long as possible. Plus keep losing for a better pick

Just goes to show them college doctors don't give a fukk about them kids...

I remember the spurs doctors were :picard: when they had to do meniscus surgery on Lonnie knee his rookie year and talked about how they had to clean some stuff up from the surgery he had in college...

Its not some rare thing. Myles Turner had to have his gait changed dramatically as well. His problems were FAR more pronounced that Zion's, but its good that some teams will put long-term success above short term shyt. The Pelicans were probably under all kinds of pressure to rush him back considering all the national games they have.

Draft players number 1 who you will have to change how they walk, brehs

that’s wild :mjlol:

nikkas was saying people were hating on him having to lose weight amongst other things tho :sas2:

The Pels said his weight isn’t an issue and that he is already lean, so no the people who said it was his weight weren’t correct.

Teaching someone how to walk differently :mjtf:

It’s a lot more common than you think.

most of the time it is happening after a guy is coming off of some sort of knee surgery though. PTs have wisened up and started doing it proactively instead of reactively and to great success.

Rose and Jabari Parker were two guys who had glaring biomechanical deficiencies in their foot striking that could have been proactively corrected before they had to have all those surgeries
