Margaret Sanger wasn't a hero, or an important icon that needs to be celebrated. I'm glad and fine with the fact PP is denouncing her. She supported eugenics and state controlled eugenics that was forced to be used on ppl deemed "unfit" from a physical/mental characteristic standpoint.
That being said, ppl are taking an article written as opinion to assume that Sanger created Planned Parenthood to kill off black people. That's not True.
She did speak at a woman's KKK event about birth control, a topic that all women would primarily be interested in. It was the only KKK related event she ever spoke at in her career. She openly admits she spoke there in her autobiography and explains the purpose of that meeting was about birth control and not about race.
Her eugenics belief is said to been used to influence Hitler's actions in removing Jews. Although Sanger did not like that her writings and teaching were being used to kill off people for genocidal reasons and funded campaigns that went again Hitler and Nazi Germany. In return Nazi's burned her books along with others.
My point is, as someone who is racist and allegedly supported the KKK why would she denounce Nazism? Seeing how white supremacy and Nazi ideology go hand in hand.
