Alright so let's get to the nitty gritty of the situation.

In Hollywood many of our stars have their fair share of issues and I felt this is a topic that needed to be discussed in light of the Bill Cosby guilty verdict. So let's analyze some of our cultural icons and innovators who had their problems.

Let's start with James Brown, if you look into his history you would see that he was infamous for giving woman the big pay back, including the late great Tammi Terrell who he is said to have beat down a flight of stares one time. Yet and still regardless of this his music was very much the source material for hiphop music in it's early days, especially as far as being used as a sample is concerned. He has went on to inspire many people such as Michael Jackson and Prince and still does even today.

You then have of course R Kelly who for the most part is praying on under aged girls and clearly has a problem. I mean a video even leaked with him urinating on a young girl back in the days, at least I have heard reference too it many times. He married Aaliyah when she wasn't of age yet and he also is accused by a young woman's parents to be holding her in a sex cult. Yet he has made songs like "I Believe I Can Fly" and "The World's Greatest" which are so inspirational it's hard to just discard them. He has made great love songs like Step "In The Name of Love", "Ignition" and many others. However he has also made some questionable ones too like Body's Calling where he sings the lyrics, "My mind's tellin' me no, but my body, my body's tellin' me yes" and in light of recent allegations as well as allegations from years ago where hush money was paid it seems down right disturbing when you listen to those lyrics though he is a clear musical genius no matter how sick he is.

Now let's take a look at Bill or should I say Pill Cosby and his situation. He was America's dad with the amount of love and notoriety he received for his show the Cosby show. The Cosby Show was no ordinary black sitcom or tv show, on the show he was a doctor and his wife was a lawyer for crying out loud which was a very positive image to show and one that was on the contrary to the normal image of African American's in media at the time. Outside of the Cosby show he was an advocate for education and seemed to be a person of high moral character. However as time went on we realized he was really a hypocrite who spoke against drug use but was sexually assaulting women after knocking them out with drugs. In fact here is a comedy skit where he speaks on it

60 victims have came forward but yet Cosby is behind A Different World, The Cosby Show, many great stand up albums and performances, as well as other TV Shows and movies. He has also done many great charitable works.

The names I mentioned are just the tip of the Ice Berg, you also have Elvis Presley, the Chris Brown - Rihanna situation and many many more proving that maybe of our artist and entertainers should not be held as heroes or role models the way many of us regard them to be.

With this said what do you think of all this? Me personally I can separate the art from the person with most of these people, with the exception of R Kelly because he used his celebrity status to pray on teenage girls who still have a lot to learn about life and themselves. Can you guys too separate the art from the person or is it not that simple? It's really a tough conversation but it needs to be had.

I think people need to realize the people do scumbag shyt no matter who they are or what they have done and the efforts that people go through to make celebrities and artists to be saints and upstanding people is a way to justify the economic and social power that celebrities and artists have been given by those that own the networks, record labels and cable companies...

It's no different than those evangelical prosperity Christians that be talking about how if you tithe and go to church every Sunday...God is gonna bless you...

Which is fukking stupid...

People tend to think good behavior is rewarded by social and economic power...and it's not.

That's not how any of this works...

Having morals and being righteous doesn't make you rich and famous and powerful.

See the issue is...

Fans have a God complex and they think their attention and money going to celebrities and artists means that celebrities and artists must be on their best behavior...

Cause fans are fanatics, fans are childlike, fans think their favorite artist exists to make their existence a little more meaningful and worthwhile...

All awhile their favorite artists is just as much as a piece of shyt as they are...

No different than God finding out that his favorite creation...Us...are just as shytty as he is with his murderous, rampaging, jealous ass...

Long story short....

Fans have a god complex and think they make artists and celebrities rich and famous and thus...since fans live very ordinary lives and we have this Abrahamic Judeo-Christian view of life and rewards...good behavior = money and power...we think our artists and celebrities who have been greatly enriched must behave morally...

I still listen to Michael Jackson and I am certain that nikka was a pedophile and had romantic attraction to little boys...so...I really don't care what artists and celebrities do...

If the cashier of your local McDonalds was a sex offender...you ain't gonna go in there...:mjlol:

Celebrites and artists 9 times out of 10...are just as shytty as the motherfukker down the street that beat the fukk out of his kids...the wife that verbally and mentally abuses her husband...the grown ass man that jacks off to child porn...

The only difference is...they have more money and power than you do and they gotta pretend like they have a squeaky clean life...so you can like them and buy their shyt...:lolbron:

All great points but you're wrong about Michael, he didn't do it man. The kid came out and said he was lying and his father put him up to it.

With that out the way I like the parallel you drew with Christianity and I feel that for the most par that is the issue. We worship these celebrities when they are humans and flawed like us.

Celebrity worship in this country has y'all thinking these people should/have to be saints because they make good entertainment, which makes no sense at all. If the shyt is funny, I'll laugh. If the music is good, I'll listen. None of these guys did anything to me personally, so I don't care about their personal lives.

I hear you but the problem with that is that though they haven't affected you personally they still affected the lives of others so with that being said if you support them and they are able to profit from your support aren't you encouraging their behavior? Aren't you turning a blind eye when you know they are doing wrong.

I mean some of these people are pedophiles, others are woman beaters and etc. so this is the question.

I for one can't stand that people still go see R Kelly in concert.

Free country. You don't sh!t what R.Kelly fans eat, do you? I don't concern myself with what the next man is entertained by to the point of ethical debates.

Ok. Then don’t go to the grocery store because the cashier is spreading STDs. Don’t pick up your mail because the mailman hits his kids. Y’all really wanna go down that road?

True but how do you feel, you still gonna support Kellz or check for his music?

I mean how could they rock with him knowing what he is doing. It's kind of sickening to me.

If a group of women say u did it you did it they would never lie for money
Take Bill Cosby out of the equation and put Chris Brown into it or James Brown, what do you think of them?

Also if you want to speak on the Cosby situation he himself admitted on record that he drugged a chick before and he also speaks on Spanish Fly in the video within the OP but feel free to ignore that though :sas2: Cosby came from an era where creepy mother fukkers did used to drug women and some still do it.

I personally do find it odd however that out of the 60 women not 1 of them stuck to their guns and fought for persecution of Cosby, disregarding a cash settlement but it is what it is. I guess that may speak to the moral standing of society and people willing to do or put up with anything for a big check. Did he rape 60 women? Probably not, but I feel he had to have raped at least 5 or something considering the facts.

I hear you but at the same time I wouldn't know about it if they did. That's the difference, what is your counter?
