ZZ Top breh?

Everyone else I agree with but ZZ Top over The Police?

Nah.

don't get me wrong, i like the police but i enjoy zz top far more than i do the police. :yeshrug:

zz top got a real cool blues rock/hard rock sound and they still comin' with it. their 2012 album la futura was really good.

i love their music because it's loud without bein' "loud" and for as loud as they get, i can still hear their voices without them bein' distorted by the music itself.

here's a single of their's from their 2012 album, la futura

I don't think they are bad actually, just think the Police are better :yeshrug:

The Opposite Of Elliott Wilson's Mohawk
Damn Melle Mel, this is the equivalent of some immigrant testifying to the greatness of Clef. The Police have nostalgic value for sure, but little talent, and nearly every one of their popular songs is watered down derivative doo doo. Not to mention formulaic and simple. Dim lyrics pretending to contain depth (Lolita references and all that) with repetitive choruses. Every song is the same song. Some faux reggae riff with an accessible tv commercial chorus designed to stick in your head: I can't, I can't, I can't stand losing... Or sending out an SOS, sending out an SOS, sending out an SOS or don't stand, don't stand, don't stand so close to me etc.

This is marginal pop cheese. And I enjoy it for what it is. But if this is dope to you, don't be mad at CACs who fukk with Fugees, Em's singles, and Skeelo.

Police is one of the GOAT bands to me. Dont get me wrong, I appreciate technical brilliance and poignant lyricism... but sometimes I just want something to resonate with the lizard elements of my brain.

Police wrote and performed all their stuff, and it all sounded good, crisp and real, as opposed to the synthetic wall of sound shyt that defines pop music today

i wouldn't call them the GOAT trio, but :why: andy summer, sting, and stuart copeland are three great musicians. songwriters, maybe not, although i enjoy the police's music. but their technique was unmatched by any other pop artist throughout the 80s. they're clean as fukk, any musician could appreciate that, regardless of sonic quality. and at least they openly admitted to being Jafakin :manny:

i like their new wave stuff a little more anyway. if you like that real british reggae sound, you might like this doc:

Nirvana does have one of the best trilogy album catalogs ever. Had insomina the other night and threw on 'In Utero' and went on nostalgia road.
