This sounds like a set of statistics that are intended to promote the idea that the ideal of a stable monogamous relationship is a fraud imo.

This statistic is wrongly increased and made inconsequential by the involvement of "emotional" relationships under the category of infidelity, basically anyone who forms a friendship, or attachment with a individual of the opposite sex in which there may be an underlying (but suppressed) attraction, is now advocating "infidelity". sounds like a load of nonsense. Since more individuals form friendships than sexual realtionships the real figure is more likely to be in single digits.

"Infidelity" is not necessarily a notion that pertains to casual relationships, or relationships that one enters into during developmental stages in ones life. Many of these so called infidelities will be exercise by young folk moving on in life. The fact that most folks get a new partner when they go to college, or leave school is not really indicative of levels of infidelity in society.

Illusion Of grandeur. Stages of fidelity are an assessment of how scarce monogamous relationships are generally stated to be. This value is determined by how eager individuals commonly are to risk gambling these relationships. If you take omitted the risk you have no support for making this assessment. This is a bit like asking how many folks would try an illegal drug if it was not addictive.

I am just now finding out about this concept and also that a close friend of mine is deep into it. And by deep i mean deep. I always wanted to fukk her because i knew she was a freak even tho i wasnt attracted to her. BUt this is what she told me and my homeboy this saturday.

I think this is something that could work for me
I fukk with chicks and dont care if they have another dude. I tell chicks that i fukk with that i am indeed involved with others (tho they dont know or ask how involved). I think Poly is the same thing but out in the open with everyone knowing about each other in a way.

I also have a homeboy who has an "open marriage". I never knew it until someone told me and i had to ask him to confirm. I always used to see him with 2 chicks. Always him, his wife and some other chick that was ALWAYS with the wife. I always assumed she was the wife's best friend or something. Supposedly they have been doing this together for 17 years. All 3 Together for 14 years now.

Some of these are pretty vague though.

For example:

That could be any relationship dating back to middle school or high school. And what is considered infidelity? It's so broad of a term that it could emcompass anything from flirting to talking on the phone to going on a date to sex. Not too mention.

Plus, how many people knew what a real relationship was before the age of 25? But they still count them anyway, and that's where alot of peoples' f#ckery takes place.

I just think alot of these statistics on infidelity are inflated and misappropriated. Most 30 and 40-somethings barely have the energy to hit the gym 2 times a week. But people think they're planning escapes from the suburbs to hit the clubs downtown and have lurid sex trysts with random college co-eds.....while smoking hookah and drinking Ciroc.
