It is definitely something I see a lot more people getting into.
I contemplated the thought of it with my last girlfriend because she liked girls as well, but then I saw a really great friend of mine lose his child and both of his girlfriends over it and I figured it probably wasn't worth it. He was still chasing outside p*ssy regardless of his situation.
I think it's something a lot of people jump into, but then later down the road it falls like any relationship.
Looking at those stats, I wouldn't figure polyamory to be the conclusion/solution, but more so open relationships and "swinging". I think we will see a lot more acceptance of that. Just plain good sex, or sex with someone with whom there's a small emotional attachment/curiosity. Plus, a lot of people don't view sex as something that should only be had with someone special, or even something that means anything really.
I think it's something that you and your partner have to be very secure with while trusting each other 100%. Way more responsibility than your average relationship. BUt I think it works for some.
