Am I the only one who thinks names have a significant impact on your life?

For instance if you name your daughter Jezebel you're already setting up negativity in her life.

I feel like I have to pick a name that has a good meaning for everything. Even for something as mundane as internet user names it has to mean something for me personally.

Anyone else feel the same?

I didn't look as much into meaning as I did their futures with the names I chose. They are easy to spell and pronounce but are still "unique". I used the common letter of "Z" in both their names for a fun connection as well...

However I'm fukked if I get pregnant again...I can't think of another name that starts with Z that I like and fits those same rules. Lol

Would you consider it "selfish" of a parent to name their child a stereotypically "black" name (i.e.: Jerome, Tyrone, Shaniqua) knowing the disadvantages in life they'll face because of it? Is it be wrong to name them something more European so they have an easier time assimilating into larger society?
