I don't see ya'll atheists out on the streets busting guns tangling with cops. this doesn't have anything to do with churches.

Ya'll dont' believe in the very forces that you claim are 'softening us', so why aren't ya'll in the streets getting it cracking since you aren't bound by the pacifying effect of religion?

shyt on the very face of the civil rights movement brehs.

When the black church had power there was unity. That unity was the name of the civil rights era.

You dont want a religious dimension in it fine, create another institution that can unite the people. You havent yet. But youre in here condemning the church as if the church is the reason why there is so much division amongst us today. When the church fell so too did any virtuous leader we have. Now our purpose is dispersed and now we have people looking to the likes of Jay Z as a role model.

The only civil rights 'leader' we have today is Al Sharpton, and even he rises from the black church. For you children vehemently against the black church name me one man that has risen from your ranks that can resemble a leader and has stepped up as a leader in light of the current crisis:stopitslime:

the problem is a lack of power (economic and political). another problem is they don't fear the repercussions. not just at the cops but at the whole justice system. aren't the DAs and sherifs elected in some parts of the states?

Fam, talking on a message board is LITERALLY doing more than praying.

No.

For the sake of argument lets say when you pray you are speaking no one but yourself.

Mental affirmations have LITERALLY changed a persons entire mindstate.

Mental affirmations have LITERALLY strengthened those who are weak.

A group uniting under the concept of prayer have made people feel as one before they went out to play a sport, perform in a concert or even go out to battle where people will die.

Sitting on your ass posting on a message board does nothing but LITERALLY make you believe youre spreading some word when its really just you in a dark draining the battery on your macbook with people you dont even know.

Which one would I rather in the face of an uprising?

Empty prayer.

this mental state doesn't mean anything if it doesn't result in action...

Which is funny since even after all that prayer they STILL have to do shyt.

Never does prayer do things ON IT OWN.

People will jump up and talk on all the ills of slavery except religion and how it was used to keep us at the bottom and how it is basically used to do the same thing today. For whatever reason, religion from a slavery standpoint is off limits. Never fails. We can't even have honest dialog about slavery and it's continued effects today amongst ourselves because certain parts of it are off limits for discussion. And many see no problem with this. :what:

what do you think prayer is just asking God to bless the children and feed the hungry?

Prayer even in your faithless definition of is still 'getting your mind right'. So regardless it still serves its purpose.

from the black church rose the majority of the civil rights leaders. The only semblance of a leader we have today Sharpton still rose from the black church.

Whether you believe in its power or not fact is it unified the people and formed somewhat of an objective.

When the church got out the way is when theres nobody the people are listening to but the likes of Jay Z and Kanye.

Sharpton is not even really in the position hes in because he was chosen, He was the only one left.
