Yes sir. That is why I don't understand when folks say show examples. Yet ignore over 40 years of black wealth, business and politics that sprung in ATL from Maynard Jackson getting elected.

And now that's all dying from the work of money hungry ass Kasim Reed. Folks so worried about blindly supporting any Black person running for/in political office that they don't actually pay attention to what they're working to do. Simply having a nikka in place ain't gonna solve our problems. We should know that by now.

we are a historically oppressed group. it is not illegal to create policy that addresses our specific needs.

Problem is, the only issue that has to be framed as a black issue is reparations.

Framing any other issue that disproportionately benefits blacks as such is a losing tactic. Expecting politicians to advocate non-reparations, black only legislation is a way to get them slaughtered politically.

Reparations should be the only black issue framed as such. What those reparations are is TBD, but there's no alternative framing that would work. Everything else, we play the game like these CACs play it.

Good thread, Nap. I agree with most of it. I'd add that while black-specific policy may be 'racist', it also may be necessary and just due to the historical extraordinary hardships faced by AA.

Obama implemented a policy for Hispanics that would block them from getting deported and allow them to renew work permits. Technically it was for all 'immigrants', but a great majority of the recipients were Hispanic (85% from what I read)..

Native Americans is something that predated modern politics

Hispanic issues were done by executive order and overturned by trump. Nothing permanent

Gays? All they got was the right to marry BY THE COURTS and trump is removing all of those protections
