Problem is a lot of aggression in today's hip hop comes from artists who don't proclaim to be gangstas or from the ghetto (Tyler, Kanye, Travis Scott and as such, their aggressive content gets dismissed as the whinings of a suburban Negro or something.

I think its lacking aggression but its also missing BLACKNESS

Blk folks have had soul and rhythm damn near since they stole us from Africa. Nowadays, our music sounds like Maxipad commercial soundtracks. Where is the soul?

Plus we have lost regionalism. A dude from Pittsburgh sounds just like a dude from Houston or a dude from Toronto. Its too homogenized.

Finally not enough variety. nikkas see 808 and mustard is hot? Every nikka and his grandma is getting them to produce for them. I miss the days when you had a Gangstarr album you knew Primo was gonna do 90%, Outkast was gonna be handled in house and with Organized. UGK was gonna be Pimp handling most of it. Now these guns for hire aint doing nothing but replicating past hits like mercenaries. The DJ Khaled-ization of music.

Individuality is a huge part of masculinity. On top of music today being like techno.

I replied to him for examples...because to be honest all of the examples that have been posted in here were :scust: like that Retch dude sounds and acts like an East Coast Chief Keef :martin: and Death Grips were :merchant: and also like I stated before I KNOW there are some diamonds in the rough out here ie...Kendrick and Killer Mike, but the majority of the music we getting are either from vets who are straight descendants from some of the cats in the OP ie Game, Kendrick or not given any mainstream exposure so that their careers can have any longevity. EVERYTHING that is put out there for mass consumption has the same cadence, message and beat. It sucks and their is no relevant messages in any of music we are being force fed. Makes me REALLY believe that the industry is actually working hand in hand with the Prison and Drug administrations.
