Kendrick just went plat off physical copies only. Add in streams and he's 3x plat.

Complaining about this is stupid. Streaming is the future whether we like it or not. Yea some artists still sell physical copies, but that already small list of artists is declining. Taylor Swift saw a pretty big drop in physical sales recently. It's over...

We have an acceptable way to measure streams, an acceptable way to determine how many streams equal a purchase, and ways to juke the numbers are constantly being eliminated (see: Rockstar). What's there to complain about? Streaming is a great way to see how people CONSUME music. You can see what albums and songs are being listened to constantly. That's a great thing to know.

Receipts? I don't doubt you 100%. You could be right. I just wanna see them 'ceipts.

Listen... the BIG numbers come when men AND women buy the album... right now that shyt is majority women coppin’ it. Only way she gets those big, big numbers is if she gets both buying. Or capture shyt international. These numbers ain’t bad

I wonder if Kendrick will be the last rap artist ever to actually achieve Plat via physicals only? :ohhh:
Cole will prob do it next. His album comes out in a couple months so it'll probably go platinum off pure sales by May-July 2019, assuming the album is well received/popular. That could be the last one to do it. Those days are pretty much gone.

0 streams like Eminem had in 2000 would've been a flop in 2018 :flabbynsick:

Old heads really have a hard time understanding change, specially in technology.

So why are Cole, Drake and Kendrick the best selling artists?
Why did Hammer sell more than Cube and ATCQ? Why did Beastie Boys sell more than LL? Why did Marky Mark sell more than Raekwon? Why Diddy sold 8 million and Illmatic 1 million? Why Redman did 300k and Eminem 10 million? I mean I can go on, but old heads are like broken records just leave them in the bushes.
These youngsters ain’t playin no mo

I don't think "4 Your Eyez Only" hit that mark but that album was pretty abstract for Cole fans. You're right though I'm sure if he made another FHD he could do it.

He definelty not gonna do another album like 4YEO

He shuld get back on FHD vibes

4YEO performing the way it did was win for Hiphop.

I’ve never had one of my favorite artist release something as lazy as 4YEO

Record stores in Charlotte stay packed:yeshrug:
People really have accepted this stresming shyt like it's great lol.. nikkas out here cheating for certain artists smh. I do have a question though, what's the problem if a rapper don't sell physical albums or can't get his album streamed? That's got to be a major L if you can't even get people to check out your album especially on streaming.
