Do tell I would love to hear your perspective. What I am describing is what is actually happening within the HMO I work for. These are all facts that I am sharing that we are dealing with.
How the law functions, please tell?
Obamacare is trash though, ask any older person on it how they like it. and the cost for people who arent insured to buy in is crazy. Hopefully rethugs repeal it, and we eventually get a canadian/euro type system.

Because the bill at face value does not touch medicare in any way shape or form, if you have medicare Obamacare doesn't "change" it at all...
It in fact introduced several provisions that keep Medicare from being cut in certain ways...
the ACA also tightend down the "doughnut loophole" that many seniors fell victim to. I guess since you are in healthcare I don't have to explain that to you and how expensive that can be. My grandmother fell victim to it and what she was paying for her prescription medication was outrages...the ACA lowered her payments a substantial amount.
So let's say medicare was supposed to receive 200 million dollars this year...How would Medicare get that money if the ACA did not exist, and now that the ACA exist how is Medicare NOT getting the full 200 million?

The law is built around having people who weren't paying anything, pay what they can with government subsidies to help pay the rest. The original idea behind it being that poor people were still going to the hospital when they were falling out and not paying those bills; so it makes sense to require everyone to carry some form of health insurance so these people at least pay something. Healthcare should be a societal guarantee to begin with but that's beside the point.

The hospitals were the ones footing the bill when people without insurance and no means to pay for medical procedures out of pocket showed up, before ACA.
I should clarify. The affordable care act set future provisions on funding of Medicare.

no, I dont think the repubs will implement the socialist style health care system, but i do think they will repeal obamacare, and then i hope in the future we get that canadian/euro health system, i never in my post said they would implement it, I said we eventually get...
Obamastans claim ACA was the compromise he had to make because we couldnt get that single payer system. Me personally? I call shenanigans. Theres no parallels between the two programs. Just levy a tax on everybody and make a single payer program. They could even just expand Medicare or w/e.

While I do agree that the ACA is probably the worst way you can get a (near) universal healthcare*, I think the best way forward is to use its framework to introduce a public option which if done right (Medicare for all) can be a backdoor single payer, which is a much much better system.
A repeal of Obamacare will brand it as a failure and will keep dems away from that issue for a (political) generation.
Not that I think that there's any chance the GOP actually repeal it, they'll be taking insurance away from people and bring back pre-existing conditions shenanigans (I know they say they won't, but it doesn't work without some sort of mandate) which will be really really unpopular with the public. Also, there isn't really any business interest pushing for this and there are quite a few that are against it, so yeah, they'll keep playing that stupid repeal game but it's mostly because they know it will not actually go through.
* and for the record, I think the ACA is a pretty big improvement over what came before it and while I believe a stronger push for the public option could've been made by the administration, I don't really blame Obama for how the ACA ended up being, politics is the art of the possible, and that's what was possible (if anything, blame the DNC for picking those stupid blue dogs).
