There is no way in hell I'll be changing a tire while my man is there. Disgusting.....Next thing you know I'll be fixing the roof and he will be baking the apple's pies. fukk no
I know most peeps are here trolling, but it aint a good look for these Fatherless hoes (men) for them to not know how to check the tire pressure or change a tire. Thats fundamentals that all men should know. But then again, im old school![]()
I guess this looks "bad" of some people, but I don't think there's anything wrong with the picture. I do the car repairs in my household because my daddy taught me how. My husband doesn't know how to fix cars, so this image could very well be us. I mean, he can change/put air in a tire, but I do most of the other stuff and he watches/helps.
This really isn't an example of the wrongs of patriarchy anyway. The bigger issue is that the patriarchy makes men automatically responsible for things like this even if they aren't mechanically inclined and then shyts on men who don't conform to this standard. It forces y'all into roles that are not necessarily for you as an individual and takes away your autonomy in favor of being a "real man." The patriarchy is just as damaging to men as it is to women, maybe even more so because no one really recognizes the harm it does to men yet.
More men should be like you. What type of man wants a woman driving him around or pumping gas for him? It seems emasculating.

the entire time.
