Who markets the content?

When they market the content does the positive content the same push as the destructive content? (If so/not, why)


Even before the inception of hip hop this system was still working to marginalize people of color........

Hip hop didn't break up the panthers

Hip hop didn't let drugs in the community

Hip hop didn't commit 500 + years of destruction in the form of slavery, war, miseducation, genocide.....

Hip hop was a problem when I was younger. It's a problem today. I've been influenced both positively and negatively by it. To say anything different would be because of a bias. As bad as people want things to be, not everything is black and white.

First off I'm not trying to be argumentative, just fishing for info.

one cannot seriously be going back 1920 - 1970 and use the trends of crime decreasing or increasing as your argument (I know you didn't post that graphic) without being seen as disingenuous. It used to be a crime to eat at white diners, go to white schools, look at white women, talk back to white people, etc. when those crimes ceased to be crimes of course the crime rate dropped. You need to look at similar times and rules when determining crime being on the decline or incline.

I'll be the first one to admit I don't know if crime is going up or down since 1980 (what i consider the modern hip hop era). I think this time period would better show upward or downward trends while measuring hip-hops influence. I can't think of any groundbreaking legislation that changed the crime rate during the hip-hop era. Can you.. or anybody else reading this post?.. the war on drugs? I really would like to know what units of measure were used when determining crime rates declining.
