The site needs new blood. It’s an echo chamber

here come the hall monitors

My only problem with it is that makes it seem like black men dressing business casual is special. And that it validates stereotypes on some "BM who wear Nike techs DO know they're thugs"

Plenty of black men have been wearing quarter zips and bushes casual. And plenty non-BM wear Nike tech

But im not really hating on these young dudes. I still view it as a net positive.

Serious question. What stereotype are you fighting against? Cause it’s not like we dont know what “dressing up” is.

Im talking about unfair stereotypes that black men get over how they present themselves

We obviously do know how to dress up but the stereotype is that BM don't and a few of the skits in that op inadvertently promote that message

I don’t see anything wrong with the trend at all. If anything, it gives more Black men permission to feel comfortable dressing business-casual. Especially the ones who used to clown others for wearing suits or dressing more polished.

Sometimes a trend just opens the door for people to explore a style they wouldn’t have tried before. If a trend is what it takes for ppl to take pride in their image so be it.
