Raid 2 is better with more and different fight props and scenes..enhancement of action piece sets. But what takes away from all of this is the effects and cgi blood..makes it look comical!

Didn't read through this whole 8 year old thread, so pardon if already mentioned but the Raid movies heavily inspired the Russos on Winter Soldier (and presumably Extraction as well).

Loved both, 2 slightly. Probably the best fighting choreography ever, outside of the best Tony Jaa flicks.

I liked the straightforward nature of the first one, but I'm not gonna lie, that second one had some classic moments.
Hammer Girl went OFF in that subway fight!


American action movies are so trash/watered down compared to what we're getting overseas...
(Except for the John Wick movies, which are fire.)

Both all time great action kung fu movies. I can’t choose. Raid 1 was grittier, Raid 2 was more visceral and better fights.

Raid 2 is amazing. My dad fukking hate subtitles film and shyt talking this film... Then, he got hook and was all in for the plot. Watched all the way through and the film was like 2+ hours long.

I probably already commented in this thread but the raid 2 is one of the greatest kung fu flicks ever created. First raid was just an appetizer. Everything great about the first one, the second one upgraded. The scale of the fights in the 2nd one alone make it>>>>>

Plus the end fight is just martial arts porn. The way it just escalates over and over until someone dies is just amazing. Every time I do my yearly rewatch of the two flicks, by the middle of the first one I start getting antsy cuz I wanna watch the 2nd one so badly.
