Just making this thread for fun/boredom, putting up pics of all the real life gangsters that made the show and just a bit of history with no spoilers

Dont worry i wont post spoilers about their real life history, if you want to find out tho just do a simple google search and wiki them.

So lets get the star of the show out the way first.

1. Enoch "Nucky" Thompson (Changed for TV so they can take liberties)
Enoch Lewis "Nucky" Johnson was an Atlantic City, New Jersey political boss and racketeer. From the 1910s-, he was the undisputed "boss" of the political machine that controlled Atlantic City and the Atlantic County government. Using his political position to his advantage, his rule encompassed the Roaring Twenties when Atlantic City was at the height of its popularity as a temporary refuge from Prohibition; his organization also was involved in bootlegging, gambling and prostitution.

2. Arnold Rothstein
Arnold Rothstein nicknamed "the Brain," was a Jewish-American racketeer, businessman and gambler who became a kingpin of the Jewish mob in New York. Rothstein was widely reputed to have organized corruption in professional athletics, conspiring in the fixing of the 1919 World Series.

3. Charles "Lucky" Luciano
Charles "Lucky" Luciano was an Italian-born American mobster. Luciano is considered the father of modern organized crime in the United States for splitting New York City into five different Mafia crime families and the establishment of the first Commission. He was the first official boss of the modern Genovese crime family. He was, along with his associate Meyer Lansky, instrumental in the development of the National Crime Syndicate in the United States.

4. Meyer Lansky
Meyer Lansky known as the "Mob's Accountant", was a major organized crime figure who, along with his associate Charles "Lucky" Luciano, was instrumental in the development of the "National Crime Syndicate" in the United States. For decades he was thought to be one of the most powerful individuals in the country.

4. Al Capone
Alphonse Gabriel "Al" Capone was an American gangster who led a Prohibition-era crime syndicate. The Chicago Outfit, which subsequently also became known as the "Capones", was dedicated to smuggling and bootlegging liquor, and other illegal activities such as prostitution. Despite his illegitimate occupation, Capone became a highly visible public figure. He made donations to various charitable endeavors using the money he made from his activities, and was viewed by many to be a "modern-day Robin Hood".[Capone's public reputation was damaged in the wake of his supposed involvement in the 1929 Saint Valentine's Day Massacre, when seven rival gang members were executed

5. Joe "The Boss" Masseria
Giuseppe "Joe the Boss" Masseria was a Mafia Boss in New York City. He was boss of what is now called the Genovese crime family, one of the New York Mafia's Five Families, He waged a bloody war to take over the criminal activities in NYC, gaining considerable power for himself.

6. Johnny Torrio
John "Papa Johnny" Torrio, born Giovanni Torrio also known as "The Fox" and as "The Immune", was an Italian-American mobster who helped build the criminal empire known as the Chicago Outfit in the 1920s that was later inherited by his protégé, Al Capone.He also put forth the idea of the National Crime Syndicate in the 1930s and later became an unofficial adviser to the Genovese crime family.

7. Bugsy Siegel
Benjamin Siegel was an American mobster with the Luciano crime family. Nicknamed "Bugsy", Siegel was known as one of the most "infamous and feared gangsters of his day".Described as handsome and charismatic, he became one of the first front-page-celebrity gangsters. He was also a driving force behind the development of the Las Vegas Strip.

8. Frankie Yale
Francesco Ioele better known as Frankie Uale or Frankie Yale, was a Brooklyn gangster and original employer of Al Capone before the latter moved to Chicago.

10. Dean Obanion
Charles Dean O'Banion was an Irish-American mobster who was the main rival of Johnny Torrio and Al Capone during the brutal Chicago bootlegging wars of the 1920s. The newspapers of his day made him better known as Dion O'Banion, although he never went by that first name

11. Hyman Weiss

Henry Earl J. Wojciechowski also known as Hymie Weiss was an American mob boss who became a leader of the Prohibition-era North Side Gang and a bitter rival of Al Capone.

12. George Remus
George Remus a Cincinnati lawyer and bootlegger during the Prohibition era. It has been claimed that he was the inspiration for the title character Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald :ohhh:

13. Bill Mccoy
William Frederick McCoy also known as "Bill" McCoy, was an American sea captain and rum runner smuggler during the Prohibition in the United States. In pursuing the trade of smuggling alcohol from the Bahamas to the Eastern Seaboard, Capt. McCoy, a nondrinker who never touched liquor,[1] found a role model in John Hancock of pre-revolutionary Boston and considered himself an "honest lawbreaker."[2] McCoy took pride in the fact that he never paid a cent to organized crime, politicians, or law enforcement for protection.[1] Unlike many operations that illegally produced and smuggled alcohol for consumption during Prohibition, McCoy sold his merchandise unadulterated, uncut and clean.

you left of Dr. Narcisse. the real one was named Casper Holdstein.

yea i purposely left out characters that are inspired by real life figures, i wouldve been here all day :whew:...theres a bunch tho like richard harrow, jimmy darmody, Margarete shroeder, eli thompson (they took a bunch of liberties with him), chalky white. mickey doyle



edit: good looking tho on that, i didnt realize narcisee was based on him. if thats the case, we might see bumpy johnson and dutch shultz next season :ohhh:
