Need for speed rivals scored higher than FH2.

Fallout 4 is a far better game than 3.

I don't know if I agree with Fallout 4 being a better package than FO3 tbh.

Yeah technically the game runs better, but story is just not there and I actually think all that community building shyt (while optional) was completely unnecessary and takes away from the experience. I HATED going through the tutorial of planting corn and all sorts of garbage in my backyard, fukk all of that. That is not what I had in mind going into Fallout 4 at all. More doesn't necessarily mean better.

I do think people are bytching a little too much though, what happened at the start of this gen was obviously. Sony nor Microsoft didn't want to gamble by taking a loss on consoles because people kept questioning if the market really wanted another generation. Turns out that they did and now are all scrambling to keep pace with the PC.

Nah, Rivals didn't score higher. FH2 has a 86, rivals has 80(PS4). PC version has less(75).

I haven't played Halo 5's SP yet but from what I heard, the consensus is the SP is short and pretty weak.

Yeah I love how you like to start threads and extremely slant arguments to support your narrative. Storylines in Fallout games are very important to the game and Fallout 4 fails to compel players. Thus the reason many feel underwhelmed with the followup, especially those who played FO3 and New Vegas.

Fallout 3 was impressive as fukk for a game released in 2008, but in 2015 Fallout 4 shouldn't have the problems it has. It is an almost broken game on the PS4/XBOX ONE with frames dropping to the teens and even locking up in some cases before adding an SSHD or SSD. It is only marginally better when it comes to the mechanics and nowhere near as big of a gap as you want to imply that it is. It still feels glitchy and a bit stiff just like it did in 2008. How many hours of FO4 did you play or are you just going off YouTube videos?

For the most part I agree with this thread, but you are exaggerating when it comes to FO4. That game was a huge letdown for reasons that are stated all over the internet. 7 years and virtually no advancement to gameplay and a huge step back in terms of story telling.

Bloodborne was pretty much a sequel to Dark Souls, and was a step back in a lot of ways. There's nothing "gen defining" about that.

Witcher 3 raised the bar for the entire WRPG genre and is only sitting a couple points above witcher 2. a good but not great game.

Story has NEVER been a strength in Bethesda games. Oblivion, fallout, skyrim all have barely serviceable stories. The enjoyment has always been about the exploration and F4 nails that.

I could judge a game from what I've played so far, and my impressions from my present playthrough is that it's an amazing game. I'm not the final say of reviews.

There wasn't that much advancement when it comes to gameplay. Did you play the damn game or not? That is the real question here. It still felt like FO3 and NV outside of the annoying additions and enemies moving slowly while in VATS. You can still glitch in spots, the combat while a bit more smooth is still stiff when compared to other games. That is not a significant advancement in 7 years. I do believe FO3 and NV were better packages curently, but we will have to see what they can release with all the DLC they have planned with FO4. FO3 DLC was great.

I disagree about the story as well. It was great being able to pick your own path and what they introduced in FO4 was boring as fukk the 7-8 hours I played. At first I thought it was just me being bored with the formula, but nah there are many who hold this belief when it comes to that game.
