found the topic of bad city design/not keeping pace more interesting and relevant especially given how so many here act like poor city design is just a US failing. 🙄

on a personal note, Egypt is one of my top five countries i've visited. i was strongly embraced by the people, especially in Aswan and the smaller cities and villages along the nile in the south...cairo is a shytshow tho, 5 lane freeway with 10 rows of cars :huhldup:

they don't plan on building affordable housing there and they don't plan on much public transportation there either, so who is gonna work there?
there's wealthy communities in the U.S where town shops have fewer or no workers but the owners because workers can't afford to live in the community.

Egypt is a dictatorship that’s in the good graces of the US. One of the most toxic, neocolonial, lowkey racist () shytbag regimes in Africa. Peace to the real people of Kemet in the south.
