I could be wrong but, I don’t even think companies HAVE to give maternity leave either in the US.
And how long it is is 100% optional for the company too
Which isnt a good thing.
There is the Family Medical Leave Act which is mandatory, but its not paid. So basically if you have a medical emergency, birth, surgery, have to take care of a sick family member, you can take off for 12 weeks and your job HAS to hold your position for you. But again, its not paid..........
