There has to be a balance, between saving and spending, lots of generational shifts point to where this comes from

The Great Recession 2008 (weakened traditional ways of home ownership, for people in prime earning years, earned less,

COVID (confront your mortality)

Union jobs/job security being weakened

people not wanting traditional families

church role being weakened

current home prices are record high

you have to LIVE. You have to be mindful of the future too. But, seeing Paris and traveling at 30 is not the same as seeing it at 65 or 70. For years in the 90's and 80's that's what lower middle class/middle class people did, waited to be retired, but a lot of them in the 2008 recession realized, fukk did I wait for? My life is over, and nothing happened. worked for 47 years and for what?

but, living like a gambler isn't the answer either. A lot of my homies would just spend every dollar, and just figure they would make it right back.

You sound like you're young, so you still have time. Up your confidence and interview skills before it's too late, and don't be close minded to suggestions or opportunities, because it seems like that is your current flaw I'm seeing
Not even breh. I'm a software engineer. My wife, brother and I own houses in LA and San Diego. I'm good financially and that's why I can go spend money for another two years of education out of pocket to make a career change into Electrical Engineering (want to get my inventor on really).

Most people though, this is not a trivial move. They can't simply up and leave what they got established or if they do, they take on more risk (see last part of post). The mass majority of the time, changing engineering fields requires more education in that field of engineering, it's literally how most of the field works. There are hard requirements to some engineering companies that you can't bypass. Some companies require a Professional Engineer license (PE), which is basically like the BAR exam but for specific engineering discipline otherwise your ceiling, upward mobility and salary are capped. Problem is, when your field gets hit hard (like EE has) jumping to another field with the same pay is a bad predicament because you need to get that PE in another field and that will take significant amount of studying and/or formal education. In fact, some schools don't have ABET-certified MS programs, so you're basically going to have to reset back to getting a 2nd BS if you ever want to get that Professional Engineer title for the next discipline.

Those are the hard requirements which is why it's an echo chamber or "close minded" - you can't get around certification and gets trickier state-to-state. The certification checkmark is right there on many application pages and you'll get hard filtered out before you even get invited to the interview.

These people are engineers - if there were ways around these things, it'd be well-known by now.

All I'm saying is it's not easy to reach the endgame no matter where you live. I was able to do it, but I had a lot of help along the way. Most people don't have the same resources and because of locations, industries, etc. will have a lot of obstacles and life happening. I even broke the numbers down in my first post. You can live in a LCOL area but the market gets bad and you have health problems for a couple years and there go all the savings. People right now got laid off in 2021 and their expenses have been wiped because they can't find another job or spent a lot of money re-locating, got laid off again and have even less money than they did saved up.

Food is the one area you shouldn’t cut down on unless you’re a fatso eating like it’s 1999. At least prince had a lion in his pocket that was ready to roar. If you dont wanna party then don’t bother getting on the floors. When dove cry….

I'll never understand this. I work with a guy who does really well and eats like a peasant. Food is fuel for the body. Eating right is 1 of the most beneficial things we can do for our body. I don't understand how you can have money and NOT eat good. make it make sense :snoop:

The 2020s been shyt and at this point I can't blame em.. Look at the shyt show we exposed too and I found this post:

Let’s see why 2020s suck:

  1. Pandemic in which many people lost their job, health, work, lifehood, and lives and which forced us to live live rats in quarantine.
  2. Disaster in Afghanistan, War in Nagorno-Karabakh, and War in Ukraine that made the world more dangerous than before
  3. Indifference, and abandoment by our governments which underestimated Covid-19, and which left us to fend for ourselves with rising prices of food, energy, gas, heat and other necessary commodities
  4. Millions of dead either by Covid-19 or by overloaded healthcare when doctors were unable to help people with cancer, strokes, and other issues due to priority over Covid. It also uncovered extreme corruption, underfunding, and lack of competence and skills among western medical service
  5. Oppressive taxation and anti money laundering laws that allowed to seize any money under mere suspicion, making common thievery look like respected profession
  6. Soaring prices of food, energy, heat, gas, and rent that makes lives unbearable for all citizens
  7. Massive recession and closure of many companies, small medium, and big ones due to lack of support, and incompetent pandemic policy, increasing unemployment, and Urban decay
  8. Massive corruption, and abuses among government and scientific community that further decreased our pandemic fight progress
  9. EU vassalisation by USA that proces that there were no such thing like independent free Europe as far as 1945,and everything we did was bringing us to this moment
  10. Europe is at It's boiling point and we look at calamity that will make the fall of USSR look like a sandbox Play
So yeah. There is plenty to hate about decaying 20s. They build nothing. They have nothing. And they created nothing. They only destroyed, decayed, and undermined everything we have build

Good old simplistic views of thecoli lead by a troll nikka :dead:
You can save, invest and still get your wig pushed back by a medical emergency or car breakdown
Not everybody out here buying new cars
Most people are trying to hold on to older model cars to save money
But if you don’t have the know how to fix it
You are fukked
If you are diagnosed with cancer/family member is diagnosed
You know how much you have to spend before the insurance company kicks in
And even after that, those copays can dig you in a hole
Medication prices are ridiculous
Let’s not talk about the increase in all insurances for your house, car and medical
The weather has been on hell all summer
So staying home trying to stack money ain’t helping because you are seeing the money leave out your account because an exorbitant light bill or trying to minimize outside activities with streaming service now kicking everybody’s ass
Gas prices, food, services/goods, housing(from rent to mortgages) all are higher than a bytch
A troll nikka posted a meme and you clown nikkas ran with it
You nikkas so problack and for the people while being capitalist dikk heads:skip:
Wages are getting cut
Those 6 figure tech jobs getting cut due to AI
Government being lead by lobbyists and the politicians you champion ain’t worried about shyt because they getting kick backs
Corporations aren’t losing money but raising prices to maximize profit
They are buying up all the real estate to make you renters
This is why I don’t respect 95% of you nikkas that post on this forum
You nikkas talk a lot of shyt but I guarantee most don’t even live on your own
And you can’t have a main or wife talking the way y’all do
Expenses double and triple with a family
You want proper education for your child
You want them to be worldly
You want them to be healthy
You want them to have what you didnt
You want to share experiences
You want them in proper housing
Well dumb smart nikkas
It costs to live
You can save all the money in the world lonely man dinner eating ass nikkas
But once you have actual responsibilities
Life don’t take no days off
shyt happens and trying to save/get ahead becomes hard when you trying to do the right things but white nimbus Jesus puts more shyt on your plate then you can handle
fukkin dweebs make me sick
Nikkas love to call folks MAGA or Republican but stay regurgitating selfish capitalists talking points like these Fox News CACs they claim to hate. Gotta love the coli :mjlol:

life is about balance.

Enjoy it like you may die tommorrow. You might.

Save like you might live to see a 100. You might.

Youll regret not buying the Benz, taking the trip to Paris, proposing to the girl, etc if you know you're going to die Tuesday.

You also regret not saving and being 78 and having to eat cat food as a result.

Considering that the Europeans have kept a majority of the world as vassals states to loot and violate ,this is beautifully ironic.
