People dont wanna believe the hard truth. They cant bring themselves to admit that their teams just ARENT AS GOOD as the Patriots.

So they run to conspiracy threories and latch on to whatever makes them feel better. Of course its gonna be the popular opinion and pushed as truth when 31 fanbases are coming at 1 team.

While there certainly is something true about pushing the limits of the refs because they can't call every single infraction, it also can't be denied that some teams will get away with that strategy a lot better than others.

The strategy is simple: Adjustments are made depending on what referees will call. If the Patriots are sure a crew is reluctant to call pass interference, they can adopt a more physical game plan. If the crew throws lots of offensive-holding flags, they’ll be more likely to ramp up the defensive pressure, knowing the offensive line cannot get away with much.

Every team does this at some level. Penalty stats for ref crews is information that I could probably find on google.
This also ignores that the "issue" people have isn't that that Patriots don't commit penalties, it's that the games aren't called evenly.
It is just trying to dismiss the concerns people have by creating an argument that the Patriots don't actually commit penalties, which is insulting to people who observed how the Jags/Pats game was called.

Colts had fewer penalties than the Patriots did this year and it sure as hell isn't due to Pagano being a genius who just doesn't play that. Or because Pagano asks refs a lot of questions during meetings.

edit: Also a lot of people dont even watch Patriots games. They watch some fan made facebook video with no context and a 3 second clip of a play

If you have ever played sports in HS...the Patriots are that team you play during or for the state title.. you look at them and feel you are better..know they are not as talented as you but somehow they beat you and you look like ...has to be the refs, they have to be cheating, anit no way in hell they should be able to play with us let alone beat us...
