It's like, I'm just here talking about the impact of music after celebrity, and you get upset that it's not about Asap Rocky... it's just so weird to me how it's not obvious to you that it's projection... but I agree, if you don't see it then that comment would seem strange.

I was just thinking about this... Drake puts up such a movie-like persona in his raps, it's hard for anyone (himself included) to argue that parts of it weren't exaggerated, altered, or even completely fabricated. This of course has caused him a lot of controversy within the game and the people who follow him on the daily.

I was cycling through the songs on Nothing Was the Same though... I realized something... If I didn't know how much of a cornball Drake really was in real life, I would think he was the realest motherfukker ever

Just look at it. Of course we have seen the persona of Drake. His corniness irl surpasses any of the sentimental shyt he allows to put in his verses. He is the only rapper to have popstar levels of public relationship issues (which are mainly his fault they are so public, not his fame's), only dude who consistently tries to prove he's had it as hard as other rappers when he isn't fooling anyone, only dude to pick up brand new slangs and patois within a week on his social media.

However... lets think about 50 years down the line. When Instagram, Twitter, Facebook are all inevitably replaced with new platforms that are more suitable for 2066. No one is going to have real extensive records of Drake's personal life during the peak of his fame, and even if they do, the vast majority of people will never bother looking at it. Stories of what people thought about him will pass by word of mouth, but they will obviously die out because since its all in the past people simply wont care as much.

BUT his music will still live on. We really don't know if he is going to be considered dated or timeless, but we do know that anyone who picks him up for the first time will start to form their opinion of him entirely based on the music that he has given us. Now let's go back to the beginning. Movie-like persona, right? Of course he raps about flaws, we all have them, but he presents them in the most humble way possible. His relationships he raps like he is the more mature one. And when he goes hard, he really tries to let you know that he's hard.

tl;dr Drake knows what he is doing and he music will carry his image much longer than any wackness he shows on the daily
