They're selling sex and the cheerleaders are more than willing to go along with it. Cheerleaders don't make any money. They're lucky to break $100 for a game.

My opinion may not be popular, but I will provide some insight into what I've seen and heard in my time working in sports. When I worked for a big 4 league, I spoke with a high ranking official and she said that a lot of young women come through these organizations hoping to find an athlete that they can latch onto. Mind you, this is a front office, white collar environment. Cheerleaders are doing the same.

In fact, some cheerleaders run their own damn services to the athletes undercover. So this is why I honestly don't care less about stories like this and I acknowledge it makes me heartless cuz some of the women do just enjoy dancing and the lore of being a sports team cheerleader. But they have just as many other ones trying to get a come up from it and trying to (and successfully) pimp money out of the athletes. I've seen it before too.

Not just prostitutes, some of these Middle Eastern countries do it to trap immigrant labor. Really fukked up that sort of thing is allowed to happen still.
