The MAGA,QAnon,Tea Party faction aren’t going away anytime soon. It’s likely in the event of a Trump they will double down on their racism and fascism. One dangerous thing Trump will do is if he loses is he will question the legitimacy of the election. He will leave the White House but he will spend the whole Biden administration claiming the Democrats did fraud. This will rile up the base in a frenzy and could lead to violence. It’s important to not only win in 2020 but 2024,2028,2032 and 2036 and so on. FDR served 3 terms to undo the damage of the depression. We will need that this time around. The economy is going to need major major major reforms.

Well its funny because it is said America goes through 80 year political cycles and 50 year economic cycles. The political cycle that we are in is the Roosevelt Cycle(1950-2030) which is rule lead by experts(well Trump is ignoring experts in this pandemic) and then economic cycle we are in is the Reagan Cycle (investment,unfettered capitalism, mass intervention in the financial sector,expemnsive real estate, stagnant standard of living etc). 1980-2030. These two cycles are coming to a close at the same time which has never happened before in American history. Which trends show is that this decade and the next will be some of the most tumultuous times economically, poltically,socially in American history.

It's one thing reciting words written for you in a TV monologue. It's another thing to actually run for president and be under the spotlight, talking directly to voters and answering questions. Not to mention constantly debating opponents and media.

Donald Trump was a successful businessman and pop culture icon. Him running for president made sense, and while I thought he'd lose even at the time it was clear he was very charismatic and was speaking directly to GOP voters. Carlson is an effete right wing elitist who plays a populist on TV. Hard for me to imagine him walking into Iowa and connecting with voters.
