The problem is the current conservatives who are taking the mantle from the GWB types are the Matt gaetz, MTG, Qanon folks. Good luck trying to win national elections by trying to pass laws that hurt minorities, women and lbgt. They'll win in the deep red States but there's already infighting for the direction of the party
