It already has sections
Not really. Aesthetically...yeah...there's a tab that says Podcast...which would essentially be the Podcast section...and there's a tab for NFL Preview...which would essentially be the NFL Preview section. But the way the site is setup is so when you click those tabs it really just filters the articles based on tags which makes it more of a search result than an actual section...and search results mean absolutely dikk when trying to separate the articles on an RSS reader. Also those "sections" aren't sections that are practical. Take The Undefeated for example. They have a Sports section...they have a Culture section. These are practical sections...If I put https://theundefeated.com/sports/feed/ in my Feedly I can just read the Sports news that I want and skip the horseshyt. Other sports sites like ESPN and The Players Tribune has sections like Basketball or Football...NBA, NCAA, NFL etc.The Ringer has Cleveland Week, Pokemon GO, Merch....no no and no.

The Ringer is just unorganized as fukk..i don't want to write the site off but it definitely needs some work before I can fukk wit it.

When it's all said and done everyone needs ESPN

Bill Simmons, Colin cowherd, Dan Patrick...and i think that skip Bayless will fail without the mother ship also

i thought bill simmons was going to pull another Grantland but the ringer flat out sucks. i've read some of the articles and they are less than 500 words :dahell:

there are a few decent articles once a blue moon but i already stopped checking that site. cbs sports.com has dope articles imo

i haven't been on espn.com in 5 years

Imma give it some time thats about all I can do

He's admitted that one of the reasons Grantland eventually failed was because their articles were too long for the way today's blog readers are consuming information. Grantland never updated their website format to adjust to smart phones and iPads which is how most people received their info now. Given that his podcast network is probably the one I listen to the most with his show, the watch and nba shows...
Motherfukk "today's blog readers then"
So I guess someone like me who enjoys long form articles and investigative pieces is left in the cold because current consumers are dopes with the attention span necessary for only hot takes, tweets and Instagram posts

Pretty much:manny:

Bill talked about it a lot when the his new podcast started almost a year ago. He held nothing back when it came to what eventually happened to Grantland. He thinks its mostly about getting something to go viral on twitter or picked up in the news now for a site like his is going to survive...

The Ringer was ok at first especially in the beginning of NBA free agency with some decent articles. In the past few weeks it has fallen off though and they need something to jumpstart them and give them a jolt. Something just seems off about the site like Simmons is trying to create another Grantland or something.
