Breh, nobody knew he was going to be there :manny:

It was post-Rumble, people knew HHH was champ and that AJ Styles was going to be making his first ever appearance on Raw :manny:

Social media and word of mouth probably contributed to the ratings too

Rock just has always had this presence a true performer and you can't not pay attention when he's speaking...nothing wrong with wwe writing or storylines they just haven't had good performers for almost 15 years...it's not like storylines were that complicated then either

Characters from the 80s and 90s had presence and weren't just going thru the motions they were allowed to be themselves ...I'm sure steroids helped too sadly

But people have been generic for like 15 yrs like what the fukk is Randy Orton everyone looks like the base create a wrestler

I agree to a certain extent, but trash in = trash out. The performers are a very small part of the problem. For all the all time greats the attitude era had, it was filled with dudes who overachieved or were much better than they should have been because the product itself was much more compelling (for better or worse). It says something when the most entertaining guys on the roster are a group of guys who are in the definition of a throwaway faction (New Day) and worked to get it over. All of the "it's supposed to be good" stuff falls flat because it's just bad from the second it goes on the paper.

Who is the champion? :sas2:

The Neckbeard/Smark Bible states "Whoever is champ shall beith responsible for thou ratings". Kinda makes a lot of people look funny in the light now that ratings went up and Hunter isn't getting full responsibility. Maybe I drink too much $700 a glass Malbec on Monday nights, but I could have sworn "Dem Beards" were blaming Sheamus and Reigns for low ratings while they held the strap.

People need to read.

"For a comparison, the new audience brought in by the usual Rumble bump and curiosity of where that leads saw hour one up 10 percent from last week, so that's roughly what Raw could have been expected to do, or slightly more because last week did have that bad third hour, as compared to last week without The Rock. Where The Rock helped the numbers is that hours two (where he appeared in the last few minutes) and three (where he appeared in the first few minutes) help up far better than usual, and hour two outdrew hour one, a rarity these days."

Ratings were going to be good because of AJ Styles RAW debut, hype from Rumble (yes this includes HHH) and speculation about the return.

Rock gave it a spike due to the timeslot he came in on. Kept it consistent as well as gave the ratings a boost. He didn't need to be advertised to be attributed to the ratings consistency and spike this week. These days word gets out FAST about whats going on, and more people flocked into RAW when Rock showed up.

Again, not saying he is the ONLY reason but he was most likely the biggest factor for some areas.

No football + Wrestlemania season = Ratings bump

They ALWAYS go up around this time of year.

Exactly, ratings are only used as a judge when it's convenient for their beard logic

They were in Miami you goof and as evidenced by the last couple of post-PPV Raw's, ratings don't always spike

This.

And plus people talk as if Rock can even do appearances off the cuff like that. They were in Miami, hes in town, he comes to the show. Next week, dude could be off across the world filming something else. So its not a matter of WWE calling Rock up and saying hey, need ya next week.
