And this is coming from someone who watches TNA as well.

If you're a fan of wrestling, I don't see why anyone wouldn't watch LU. The wrestling is very good, whether it's a hardcore match or a normal match, backstage segments make sense, distinctive non-CAW characters, high production value, and you can tell the storylines have actual time and effort behind them. And since it's filmed as a "season", the shows flow very well from one show to the next. You're not gonna have a match thrown together one week, only for it to happen again the next week. Matches serve a purpose there.

I've been toying with the idea of doing one of them '10 reasons TSC should start watching Lucha Underground' lists in anticipation of the new season. Might drop it this weekend if I can find the time.

As Catrina, she's the "valet" to LU's monster heel Mil Muertes (used to be Judas Mesias in TNA) and her "Disciples of Death", although it's a bit trickier than that as she controls them, so technically she is the big bad of the show. Her trademark is the always -worthy lick of death.

There's some overarching stories playing in the background, but most of the in-ring feuds were resolved at the season finale, so you can probably step into the new season and not feel lost. But... you should watch it from the beginning because it's really fukking awesome.
