this match was after Rock won the Undisputed title in 2002. on the road to SummerSlam 2002. the same night Shawn Michael's got beat up in the parking lot to setup his match with HHH.

there was literally no reason for this match other than Rock was a Flair mark and they were in North Carolina. He had never faced Flair and surely wanted to get a match with him. Rock even played up being the heel in the match, tho he was a babyface.

its a quick match, the kind of quick 8 min match Raw used to have during this time. but its a fun match, and one that makes me think if they would have done a real feud and had a match on PPV it could have been really good.

Is this the joint where Flair goes to do the People's Elbow but does the coked up strut instead of running the ropes? :mjlol:

I HATE it when people shyt on Rock for his in ring work, just cause he didn't do 100 moves or spam big spots doesn't mean shyt. He was entertaining and knew how to work a crowd, and could work with anyone; not to mention his selling, timing and in ring psychology was second to none.

Dude's an in ring GOAT as far as I'm concerned :yeshrug:

Of course he's an in ring great..listen to the crowds in his matches compared to the likes of any supposed great ring performer. Night and day.

At the end of the day, it's all about charism and the Rock had loads of it. He didn't need to be an amazing mat technician to put on great matches. He brought a high level of energy to every move he did. You'd be hard pressed to find a boring Rock match.

A lot of these jabronis think hitting picture perfect drop kicks, suicide dives, and moonsaults equal good in ring wrestling skills.:mjlol:

The point of wrestling is to get the crowd involved and the rock was one of the best at that.:yeshrug:

Here's a thing...when he get beat down during a match, that crowd came alive when HUGE Rocky chants. And almost during every single key Rock match after 2000, when he was in a situation where the call was close, a close ass 2 count after absorbing a finisher, the crowd would get insane with a HUGE Rocky chant because they know it's getting close. You NEVER saw that with anyone else from the Hogan era, new gen era, nwo run, or Attitude Era. Yeah when Eddie and Bryan were close to getting beat, the crowd came alive but that was CONSISTENT for the Rock all the time. He was doing all those crazy handicap matches against Benoit/Eddie or the Dudleyz or 4 on 1 against DX..all of that shyt...he was a master of the crowd.

:mjpls:Rocky sure was excited to work with CAC wrestlers who talked a little trash now and then, brother.

:mjpls:Bet he wished he could've tagged with Michael Hayes, too, dude.

:mjpls:And he credits gay CAC Pat Patterson with teaching him... everything, Mean Gene.
