Lol forgot about Chris Jericho at the end
Rock didn't get enough credit for his psychology. Dude played his role perfect depending on the crowd. Vs Hogan and Brock that same year he wrestled as an heel.
Here's a thing...when he get beat down during a match, that crowd came alive when HUGE Rocky chants. And almost during every single key Rock match after 2000, when he was in a situation where the call was close, a close ass 2 count after absorbing a finisher, the crowd would get insane with a HUGE Rocky chant because they know it's getting close. You NEVER saw that with anyone else from the Hogan era, new gen era, nwo run, or Attitude Era. Yeah when Eddie and Bryan were close to getting beat, the crowd came alive but that was CONSISTENT for the Rock all the time. He was doing all those crazy handicap matches against Benoit/Eddie or the Dudleyz or 4 on 1 against DX..all of that shyt...he was a master of the crowd.
Its called "SELLING"Man they used to put The Rock in some crazy outmatched situations and he was winning just by a hair instead of doing that Super Face comeback like Hulk and Cena.
Being ungodly popular actually makes it easier to book shyt logically since he could withstand any L as long as it made sense . Take notes modern WWE![]()
When the Rock walked down to the ring on Raw for the promo the night after Survivor Series 98, he knew he couldn't be touched. He could lose and a cut a promo the night or show after dissecting how he loss and put himself over. Genius. Hogan, Cena, Austin..they won all the time so they didn't have to do that.Psychology, timing, selling, pacing, could tell a story, work a crowd; dude had everything.![]()
A lot of these jabronis think hitting picture perfect drop kicks, suicide dives, and moonsaults equal good in ring wrestling skills.
The point of wrestling is to get the crowd involved and the rock was one of the best at that.![]()
