This is a really great album, it's probably my second favorite Roots album behind their "Do You Want More?!!!??! album. Each song on this album is sequenced perfectly one after the other so the songs just flow effortlessly. The J Dilla tributes ("Dillatastic" and "Can't Stop This") are epic; very great pieces of music. The album has a cohesive sound from start to finish.

This music video was really great because it's 3 videos in 1. Songs in music video include: "In The Music", "Here I Come", and "Don't Feel Right":

Classic album imo. One of the few major label releases of the time where the artist got to completely control their vision, and you can look back and realize it's similar to later major releases like GKMC in terms of its serious, dark tone. I may shyt on Shawn Carter a lot, but I respect him for ensuring that album got releases as is.

I mean, it's a "good" album i suppose but those dark, boring songs in the beginning with low voice McGhee talking about middleton were a buzz kill.

The Roots never hit grand slams. they have a high batting average but leave runners on base a lot.

this lp got them back on track IMO (phrenology and the tipping point had a couple joints but overall were mediocre for the legendary...)and of course having malik b. get off that rock and come back to reform that ill 1-2 combo with tariq was some :ohlawd: shyt.

the title cut is :ahh: and "here i come" still gets me hyped.
