I was pushing for the return of the $600 weekly payments with back pay. @Dray5K said it wouldn't happen, but I was telling him to stay positive. It didn't happen, so I told him he was right.
Yeah, the back pay part was a bit ludicrous. That'd be entirely too much money to shell out to millions of people. I clocked it at $12,000 by the beginning of February. Essential workers, the unemployed, and everyone in-between would lose their shyt:pachaha:.

would you rather we have nothing here :jbhmm:

How do you know the ensuing help won't eclipse the 3.4 :jbhmm:

can you tell the future friend?

I’m going by their message and what they said for months. They said they couldn’t pass the Heroes Act as they didn’t have control of the Senate. Now they do, so what’s up with the Heroes Act?

Consistency and following up on their word is all I’m asking for. Isn’t that what we should be doing with politicians? Holding them accountable for the message and words that they say.

Dudes on here complaining what I’m saying when politicians were the people who said it in the first place. It’s not like I’m making this shyt up.

I'm pretty sure you won't find a country on earth where their politicians are consistent unless said population start legit threatening their lives :mjlol: I agree with you here but I'm also a pragmatist and can realize this is the best timeline going forward because with rethugs we would have got nothing at all.

This will likely be the last time I reply to one of your posts in here because you've shown an inability to grasp elementary level politics. The Heroes Act was passed, it could be brought to vote in the Senate but it would still need 60 votes to pass, meaning they would need several Republicans.

This bill here is far likelier to pass with bipartisanship. If it's not, then Biden and the Dems can pass it through reconciliation but Biden can only use that three times in his four years. He'd rather not have to use it.. Time will tell.

What happened to passing the Heroes Act though? The same Heroes Act you insisted wasn’t a political ploy when I told you that it was. What’s stopping them from passing it now they have control of Congress?

Both bills combined are going to come in lower than the $3.4 billion dollar Heroes Act that has been stuck in the House for months.
Some of what was in the Heroes Act got passed at a lower rate plus their was no vaccine when the Heroes Act came to be.
They would have to update it and revote on it.

And that’s totally okay. You can take the money, while also still holding them accountable for not following up on their campaign promise. Dudes are so scared of Republicans taking over that they refuse to acknowledge if the Democrats don’t follow up on their campaign promise. You’re a fool if you don’t think that they knew exactly what they were doing when they weren’t specific on the $2000 message front. You can still take the $1400 while also saying that they weren’t specific on their word. It doesn’t make you a c00n or MAGA.

A lot of the Coli’s logic and thinking on certain issues is rather mind boggling.

Going by your logic and wording, Biden can still pass the Heroes Act on his own if he doesn’t get needed bipartisanship just as the bill he’s working on now.

Correct me if I’m wrong?

He thinks he has 60 votes on this. He will try this first to avoid reconciliation.

And if he has to go through reconciliation to do it, then he can do the Heroes Act instead that they have been harping about for nearly a year. Since neither would have the needed bipartisan votes pass hypothetically if it came down to it.

Yeah, the threads last year regarding the unemployment benefits had people heated. Also, considering all the people who committed fraud, I could see why the government doesn't want a repeat of that.

It did give us fukkery like the "I got 11k from Trump" thread. :mjlol:
