I do think that they hustled people into believing that the money would be coming quickly if they won those two GA seats. It was always going to be tied to the next stimulus bill per the usual, but that they didn't stop them from trying to do it individually as a PR ploy for goodwill.

Yeah but honestly there is no easy way to explain how this works. People struggle with the very fundamental basics of the Senate like cloture and the filibuster. No way could you explain reconciliation in the 30seconds worth of attention span you get in a political ad.

Long story short, if just 10 out of 50 republicans supported it, people would have had checks by now. But republicans are going on record saying that they will give 0 votes for this.

The Democrats know damn well that the Republicans weren't going to support the stimulus checks or the new round of stimulus money. But that didn't stop them from lying (essentially what they did) to win those two GA seats. They also intentionally mislead people into thinking that it would be $2,000 for the next checks. People can make up whatever that they want, but they were intentional in their wording about it.

That separate stimulus was nothing more than a political ploy as it was never going to pass individually. It was going to be tied with all the other shyt that they pass at once as it's always been the case.

They should have just kept it real from the jump instead to run game on voters as they always do.

:dahell: are you complaining about? They just passed it, and the checks are coming.

If you're upset that they aren't coming as far as you want them to, we're gonna need you to grow up. :mjtf:

Their messaging could have been better or more specific but I don't buy that they "ran game". The way our government works is not only publicly and instantly available via the internet, its also required learning curriculum at some point for every school district in America. I'm not even talking about some rudimentrary Senate rule that only people who follow politics would know but its literally cloture which is over 100yrs old and the basis of how the Senate operates.

At some point people have to take personal responsibility in not knowing how their government works. The Dems gained an avenue to pass the stimulus without Republicans which is the gist of what the campaign promise was. They tried to neogitate with Republicans for a week, which is always the fastest way this could get passed and immediately went into reconciliation procedures. That is upholding their part of the bargain as far as I'm concerned. If we don't get both those seats then your stimulus is $0.

Or maybe you can start holding your politicians accountable and ensuring that they keep to their word. No one is complaining about anything when they were the ones who said it.

Sounds like you’re the one who needs to grow up and quit caping.

You’re proving my point with your post by caping for them instead of calling it what it is. They knew it wasn’t going to be as easy as they said, but that didn’t stop them from misleading voters in a political ploy to win those seats.

You can still admit that they mislead voters while still upholding to ensure that they keep to their word. Dudes seem to start whining and complaining every time someone brings up a valid criticism when it comes to a politician.

Blaming people for not knowing how the government works is a lame ass cop out excuse when politicians and the government change up the rules as they see fit. Everything that they do is to line their own pockets from the lobbyist who hover in the background.

Miss me with that bullshyt that you're spewing.

I will say it again as I have many times before. Dudes on here are so quick to cape and make up excuses for a politicians lying and not keeping their word, but will quickly throw a family member or friend to the bushes when they don't keep theirs. Cape and make up excuses for the white woman, but will kick your own people to the curb.

Pull that shyt off in the real world at your job and watch how quickly they kick you to the curb.

I said very clearly that their messaging could’ve been better. But again, your ignorance of publicly available information that affects the way you live on the daily is your fault and your fault alone. Especially if you’re voting age. You get no excuses or sympathy from me. None.

So all Dems voted to give you money. All republicans voted not to give you money.

Your anger is for the Dems because you and others feel like you need a PowerPoint Presentation that explains every detail . All your smoke should be for the people who voted unanimously to tell you to eat a dikk, I’m serious about that, you shouldn't even open your mouth about the Dems unless you’re releasing fire and brimstone on the GOP, but of course you aren’t :yeshrug:

I don't want any sympathy as I know what the game is and how it's always been operated. Lobbyist and dirty money has been running rampant in in Congress for years and helps influence the decisions that they make. It's lobbyist on both sides with their own best interest at heart. I have said that since the day I got on this site and before COVID-19 hit, so my rhetoric is nothing new.

A lot of people have been living "willfully ignorant" for years with what's been going on in Congress and how they operate. They didn't care though as they were too busy living life and everything going on around to them to know how they've been played. It took COVID-19 and them losing everything that they had for them to realize what's going on in front of them the entire time.

My anger is with all of Congress and "both sides" of the table as the people in charge of the problem were the ones who created and helped contribute to the problems of the country in the first place. A lot of the problems in this country (student loans, rent prices and other issues) have been a problem for a long time, yet they were never addressed and allowed to grow and grow.

As I have said before, I don't think that Congress knows or even cares how to solve the rent or student loan issue long term outside of throwing money at the problem. Unless they are truly willing to tackle the foundation of the problem and root of the cause, then those particular issues are going to continue to be a problem and only be "patched up". Why would they be fixed when those particular industries are lining the pockets of the people in charge of the country?
