Goatganda the pearl of Africa
roy was the total package, played major minutes shot in the 40s, was a good 3 point shooter, got to the free throw line over 6 times a game, rebounded, assisted, stole, low turnovers, barely fouled.[DOUBLEPOST=1397436464][/DOUBLEPOST]
Just had a vision....

Blazers should dupe batum for gerald green....

Idk why but Gerald Green style of play is the closet thing in the contemporary NBA, reflecting roy's style of play...

:wtf:.

Nicholas batum averages 14 points 7 boards and 5 assists a game, as the 4th option why would you trade that for gerald green

blazers fans can only sit back and wonder about Roy, LMA, and Oden trio
They got to the playoffs together once. But I guess that can be said it was before they entered their prime. Nate McMillan was their coach though and he didn't coach a good series. Yao starts a game that series like 10/10 and he still refused to dbl team him. Yao got single coverage defense the whole series.

:what:Brandon Roy was called the "Tim Duncan of Shooting Guards" even kobe acclaim to his skill. Gerald Green plays nothing like Roy.

1st Round Playoff Exits
and why would the suns do this deal?
Because Nico averages 14 points 7 boards and 5 assists a game, as the 4th option :smugfarve:

Those are 2 players I wouldn't compare to each other at all, style wise.
IDK I like the energy and dukes ability to effortlessly get up a shot up...Duke can be clutch. I know there's a lot of Sun's haters on here, who still won't give duke benefit of the doubt of being a freak of nature @GoddamnyamanProf

More energy :yeshrug: Batman can be too passive at times. Plus when I was some of roy's old highlights, I had a vision of green possessing the ability to draw a gang of attention driving in the paint but ultimately feeding LMA for an easy put in....

Nah he's right, they're nothing alike. Roy was always known for his smooth game. Gerald is the opposite, explosive and unpredictable. You never really know what he's gonna do, for better or worse. Roy was never close to the athlete or dunker Gerald is, but in his prime he was def the better player. Gerald's ballhandling skills are surprisingly terrible, which limits him. He's turned into a deadly shooter, though he's fallen a little too in love with the 3 this year IMO.

I dont think there will be a shooting guard to enter the league in the next 10 years that will be as talented as Roy was. Sad he couldn't fulfill his potential, most of his career he was playing in pain. Never had a serious knee injury just death by a thousand cuts

just imagine the greatness of the SG position if

Roy was healthy
Wade was 5 years younger
Kobe was 10 years younger
Harden wasn't a flopping fakkit
Arenas put the time into basketball than guns and dice games

tragic

Roy was the reason that Houston traded Rudy gay for Battier. They say JVG and throw was so pissed that they just missed out on Roy that they wanted nothin to do with the draft:russ::pachaha::heh:[DOUBLEPOST=1397439144][/DOUBLEPOST]

Aldridge hadn't developed yet and then you had Scola and Von Wafer going off while Outlaw/Batum did nothing :snoop:

Roy was a beast and he would definitely be the best two guard in the league if he was still healthy. It's a shame that he got injured because he wasn't even in his prime yet and was till a top ten player in the league.

Norfeast groovin…
Blazers woulda won a ship with him and LMA together so the hater in me is relieved he ain't playin no more but as a basketball fan its fukked up cuz his game was really enjoyable. He really was a shooting guard version of Tim Duncan everything was so textbook. Its a lot of tragic figures at the guard position that make you wonder how much more they could of done if injuries didn't fukk them over.
