No other stable full of all guys making their TV debut for a major company have worked this well together and have made this big of an impact. Even during their singles runs, they all have been main event worthy. They deserve to be considered legendary.

Yeah that's another thing too. Remember back before and after they broke up, we we're wondering who was gonna be jobbed out, fast forward to 2016 and all three guys have had major success.

Their singles success will help their legacy but as a group, as a trio group, while they were very good, they didn't do anything LEGENDARY. Legendary is the NWO, DX, Four Horsemen...stables that came and had a renowned impact.

The Shield was great, had awesome feuds, great matches, were booked incredibly. But their stable didn't do anything that transcended the wrestling business or anything. For their era, they were one of the best. In the depths of wrestling history? I wouldn't call the stable legendary.

Comparing them to NWO and Four Horsemen wouldn't be fair. In this current generation they will be considered a legendary stable along with groups like Bullet Club. Just not on the highest tier of stables.

Here's the thing about the Shield...Punk obviously let the cat out of the bag during the podcast Thanksgiving 2014..he said it was all about Roman Reigns, right? Making him LOOK STRONG and all of that yin yang. Now Cripple H always protected Rollins in NXT and was gonna do something with him but apparently wanted Roman ahead of him in the long run. So they created this Shield situation to keep a push going for all involved while keeping Roman undefeated and never really getting pinned no matter what happened to the group. It was Daniel Bryan and Kane that BUILT them up though...they did all the 6 man matches with them and Bryan was so over that it got big reactions from crowds for the first half of 2013. They did another thing...they kept John Cena away from them. They didn't have him squash them and fukk them over like he did to Hassan, Umaga, and God only knows how many other pushed talents over the years. They even used a hot Kurt Angle as just a jobber to push Cena in 2005.

They had political protection, Roman Reigns as the company pet project, and they were kept from Cena. Nothing about them is legendary. Legendary is the reaction Daniel Bryan got in that Cage in this PG era or how fans turned on 3 str8 PPVs to put him back at the top of the roster when they wanted a Cena/Blandy narrative.

Actually Ambrose at first was the pet project in The Shield. Rollins and Reigns was just the background for the "leader" Ambrose. Reigns was simply the hot tag and muscle in the group. Ambrose got the first championship reign and he was scheduled to have feuds with a lot of legends and got the most accolades from people. He was the one that people were talking about so much, but Ambrose has went backwards as far as his work ethic and talent goes.

Once I heard that match was coming I turned it off haha. Just seen them wrestle a bunch of times. I'll probably check it out for KO commentary though

You should. Just ignore the match and listen to the f_ckery on the side. :heh:

They kind off had Ambrose as the quasi leader but when they did that match where Undertaker beat him post WM 29..that told you something. Then they had Reigns look good in all the hot tags and they brought up how he NEVER lost. The charade was up.
