Man, black people have no choice but to be tough
what does this even mean tho?
I mean this is lowkey why I dont even try to get "trapped" into discussions about "community" because there IS no community. We really need more people breaking through and clearing the beach before trying to bring more people along from jump...
What do I mean by this?
We need more black elites, honestly. People will hate me for saying this, but without aspirational black pockets thriving in elite spheres then the rest of black society really won't do well. We're already struggling.
I saw something that said like 5% of black men make over 100K a year.[

Remove entertainers and we're ALL fukked up out here. I really dont think people know the stakes of what we're facing. And even worse, we've got these weirdo aggressive types who are ruining any legitimacy we have in corporate america by forgetting they're guests and pushing overly progressive social agendas in the workplace and i see it backfiring lowkey. Dont get me wrong, I'm VERY far left and i vote that way and spend my money that way..., but we have to know where we're playing...and its NOT our court...its not even our ball. Everything we're doing is on THEIR dime and THEIR time. We have nothing of our own.
Lately its become OK to mock black sectors who try to carry themselves above the fray and who straddle the line of removing themselves and/or forgetting where they came from but somethings got to give because we clearly cant just bring everyone along and still keep the door open.
The only alternative is to separately create an entirely nascent infrastructure to meet these challenges of real black success.
I truly don't know how to do this because shortcuts aren't cutting it. Its got to come up out the mud... its the only solid foundation we may ever have
and mind you, this man was an african ELITE... the man did everything he was supposed to do... and it STILL wasn't enough
