Kobe was the most skilled player in the league and arguably more skilled than MJ, but he wasn't as athletic and dudes like Vince Carter and Tmac were more athletic than him, and Bron when he came along.

LeBron is the most athletic and arguably more athletic than MJ because he is bigger and stronger but still just as fast, however he isn't as skilled as MJ or Kobe and his insane athleticism makes up for it.

MJ has the crazy Kobe skill and the crazy LeBron athleticism, and that why he is the near unanimous goat and fathered Kobe and LeBron and his DNA is in everybody superstar in the league today.
