A lot of the criticisms are due to always being compare with Lamar.
Lamar has been my favorite QB, but I can recognize when both players are great. Too many people say that Allen gets free passes and little criticism. I would argue since 2018 when he was drafted, he's top three most criticized QB's for QB's that have at least started two seasons.

Give him a certified A level coach and a certified defense and he at least makes the super bowl

I don't get why it has to be one or other they are both great
. Allen gets less criticism if they perceive it that way because in the playoffs his performance is absurd. Very rarely in the Bills playoff losses can you say the Bills lost because Allen sucked? his 2nd year vs Houston wasn't good vs Cincy wasn't great 1st AFC CG vs KC wasn't good? Mcdermott defenses vs KC has given up an average of 36PPG somehow Allen is at fault according to bozos on here. I'll argue he's masked a lot of flaws of the Mcdermott& Beane regime imo
